What You'll Do
- Lead, mentor, support, and grow a team of engineers specializing in operating systems, container base images, and platform pipelines.
- Have an opportunity to work in a truly global organization with team members from around the world.
- Architect, deploy, and support scalable and reliable operating system solutions for both Windows and Linux Platforms in a massive-scale public cloud environment (AWS, Azure, and GCP).
- Work closely with partner teams across the broader organization, including Architecture, Security, Development, Quality Engineering, Compliance, and other Cloud Operations teams.
- Maintain inventories of Images, Assets and proper processes for upgrades and compliance are created, communicated and executed.
- Lead a time in designing and implementing robust CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure as code, ensuring consistent and automated deployments across multi-cloud architectures.
- Develop and apply relevant programming experience for automation frameworks and tooling for Windows and Linux environments.
- Proactively identify and address areas of improvement and technical debt.
- Oversee the management and administration of Windows and Linux-based servers.
- Participate in design reviews and provide operating system and platform pipeline support and leadership to the Engineering organization.
- Champion a development mindset, focusing on managing infrastructure as code, eliminating toil, and fostering a strong sense of accountability and service ownership for OS and pipeline components.
- Evaluate, implement, and support performance, capacity, and availability monitoring tools for operating systems and platform pipelines, including Observability solutions such as New Relic, CloudWatch and other similar technologies.
- Ensure all regulatory compliance requirements are met for Coupa infrastructure, including (FedRAMP, PCI, HIPAA, SOC1/2), leveraging security tooling like Twistlock (now Palo Alto Networks Prisma Cloud).
- Stay up to date with the latest developments in cloud operating systems, container technologies, tooling, and platform pipelines.
- Partner with external vendors for tools selection, licensing, budgets, forecasts and business reviews.
- Create roadmaps, plans and projects to deliver business outcomes using Jira
- Generate good documentation including runbooks, designs and workflows.
- Attend industry events.
- Participate in an on-call rotation.
- Occasional travel may be required to perform job functions
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with 5+ years of professional experience, including experience in a leadership or management role.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ruby).
- An ability to solve complex problems with creative, well-thought-out solutions.
- Strong runbook automation experience using Rundeck or equivalent tools.
- In-depth, hands-on experience deploying cloud infrastructure using Terraform, CDK for Terraform, and CloudFormation, or extensive experience with Chef & Ansible, specifically for OS and pipeline management.
- Proven experience deploying infrastructure as code using CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions/Workflows, or equivalent), incorporating artifact management with tools like Artifactory..
- Expertise in the administration of both Windows and Linux-based servers.
- Confidence in owning and delivering projects and issues to resolution, with a focus on large-scale cloud environments.
- A passion for excellence, natural problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking, with a drive to understand and resolve complex issues.
- A drive to change and improve the status quo of inefficient activities.
- A solid understanding of system internals and protocols, particularly as they pertain to a public cloud environment, including security best practices and the use of tools like Twistlock (Prisma Cloud), Nexpose (InsightVM), or Tenable.io.
- Security and certificate management experience, including familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools.
- A desire to work in a collaborative and supportive work environment.

- Experience with database technologies such as MySQL, MS-SQL, and NoSQL databases.
- Relevant operating system and cloud certifications.
