Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure architecture, constructing high-availability, scalable, and cost-optimized cloud platform architecture cross Alibaba Cloud and AWS China.
  • Design and implement a Landing Zone architecture to standardize the deployment enterprise cloud governance, permission models, network topology, logging, and monitoring systems per Tapestry global infrastructure compliance requirement. Drive adoption of the Well-Architected Framework (WA) in business systems to ensure architecture meets five key dimensions: performance, security, cost, operability, and reliability.
  • As part of Global Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) that delivers architecture standards, service catalogs, automation templates, and training curricula; mentor teams and grow cloud-native capabilities through tech talks, CoP, and open-source contributions. Drive SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) practices by establishing SLI (Service Level Indicator), SLO (Service Level Objective), and SLA (Service Level Agreement) systems to enhance system availability and operations efficiency.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - Lead the development and create reusable standard templates modules with Terraform, OpenTofu and CloudFormation with GitHub, GitLab and Bitbucket etc.
  • Serverless Architecture / DevOps - Drive the adoption of cloud-native technology stacks, including Kubernetes, Service Mesh, microservices architecture, and event-driven architecture. Support the cloud migration serverless transformation of business systems, integrating Lambda, Function Computing and Serverless architecture for system refactoring. Optimize container images for security and performance, integrate container services with CI/CD pipelines, configure service discovery and load balancing for containers. Collaborate with DevOps teams to build pipelines to achieve versioned, automated deployment, and rapid rollback capabilities for infrastructure.
  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud security architecture, including critical security controls such IAM, VPC, encryption strategies, and compliance auditing for information security compliance requirement.
  • Formulate cloud cost optimization strategies by utilizing tools such as Cost Explorer, tagging policies, reserved instances, and spot instances to control resource costs. Participate in OKR alignment and architecture review meetings to ensure strong alignment of cloud architecture with business strategy and product roadmaps.
  • Support cross-functional team collaboration involving product, development, operations, and security teams to ensure successful architectural implementation. Participate in technology selection and PoC experiments to evaluate the feasibility and compatibility of new tools and services within the cloud platform.
  • Automation & Development – Develop Python script for cloud resource management, create automation workflows for routine operation tasks, implement custom resource providers for CloudFormation/Terraform/OpenTofu, Build monitoring & Alert solution with Cloud native services or 3rd party services
  • Establish a cloud architecture documentation system and knowledge base to support team technical capability development and knowledge retention.
  • Establish SOPs for cloud platform operations and an automated operations system to enhance system stability and fault response efficiency.
  • AI/GenAI – Design and implement solution as using Alibaba Cloud AI services & large language model (LLM) for AI workload, configure the optimize AI for specific business use cases, evaluate and select appropriate foundation models based on performance requirements, implement guardrails to ensure responsible AI usage and compliance, with prompt engineering strategies for optimal model performance, Develop RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) architecture with Alibaba Cloud services.
  • Data Management & Governance – Enforce enterprise data-classification, encryption, masking, retention, and destruction policies aligned with PCI-DSS, PIPL, and other retail-relevant regulations; Drive data-catalog, lineage, quality scorecards, and cost-chargeback mechanisms to make data ROI measurable. Support to build and operate enterprise data lakes / warehouses and MDM (Master Data Management) for customer, merchandise and supply-Chain domains.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in spoken and written English & Mandarin for communication & collaboration with overseas technical team
  • •Strong knowledge of cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Hybrid), cost frameworks, automation and orchestration, business continuity and disaster recovery expertise. Establish best practices for hybrid/multi-cloud DR, auto-scaling, blue-green / canary releases per business requirement etc.
  • •At least 7 years of experience in cloud infrastructure architecture design and implementation with hands-on experience in Alibaba Cloud and AWS China. Experience in Serverless architecture design and implementation using platforms such as AWS Lambda Alibaba Cloud Function Computing.
  • At least 5 years experience in Alibaba Cloud and AWS Landing Zone, WA project experience. Tencent experience is a plus.
  • 5+ years project experience in retail industry (Fast retailing, Sports, Beauty, Accessible Luxury etc.) is preferred.
  • End-to-end digital-transformation delivery across customer touchpoints, middle-platform, supply chain and finance in large retail groups is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with GDPR, PCI-DSS, MLPS 2.0, and data-cross-border assessments is preferred
  • Proficiency in Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, Jenkins, Ansible, and cloud automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills, ability to work across development teams to create and implement solution architectures that meet business objectives while adhering to Tapestry standards and Infosec policies.
  • Has aptitude to learn and understand new concepts and technologies to become an expert in the field, Team player and self-driven with a transformation mindset. Able to work across functionally diverse teams.
