The manager is responsible for leading multiple teams to plan and successfully implement a set of projects aimed at improving patient and staff safety. The manager is responsible for the development and implementation of an apparent cause analysis program and provides ongoing support to medical staff and other departments for monitoring the quality and performance improvement projects identified by the hospital’s patient and staff safety strategy. The manager will use data driven and evidence- and practice-based quality improvement approaches, in alignment with the department's strategic priorities, to provide technical expertise, project management, and leadership related to the development, implementation, and oversight of quality improvement plans impacting patient and staff safety. The manager will lead an internal team to execute on these deliverables aligned with the strategic priorities of the hospital addressing patient safety. Serves as the business unit partner with department director in determining and steering the operational
direction for the department.

Department Specific Job Details:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, business, engineering, public health, or a related area required
  • Masters degree preferred.

Experience (required)

  • 4+ years of experience in quality and safety management within a healthcare setting
  • 2+ years of project management and process improvement experience
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities

Preferred experience

  • Previous leadership experience
  • Experience using the IHI Quality Improvement Framework. 
  • Proven experience engaging both clinical staff and hospital leaders in improvement projects.
