Manages, plans, organizes, and evaluates the daily operation, staff, and quality control of multiple laboratory disciplines and/or shifts. Provides operational leadership and by interacting with clients, presenting organizational capabilities, defining scope of work and delivering results through execution and technical guidance.

Job Responsibility


• Provides leadership to Clinical Laboratory Operations' team members and
supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department
objectives.
• Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the
health system.
• Manages day-to-day activities and staff; hires, trains, disciplines, and supervises
staff.
• Evaluates performance and ensures appraisals are completed on a timely basis;
sets daily priorities and delegating work assignments; ensures scheduled staff
hours and vacation provide adequate coverage; ensures maintenance of employee
and operational records.
• Manages the development and validation of analytical methodologies.
• Ensures results by solving problems of a diverse scope; drives initiatives outside of
standard work function; leads investigations.
• Collaborates and effectively communicates with clients and internal groups.
• Collaborates with business development and contracts to assist in project definition
and costing.
• Ensures timely completion and compliance and all other relevant company training
requirements.
• Motivates a high performing team to meet the current and evolving needs of the
business through effective selection, training and development, coaching and
mentoring and performance management.

Job Qualification


  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Current License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
  • 8 years of technical experience, required and 2-5 years of leadership/management experience, preferred OR Master's Degree with 2-4 years of technical experience.
  • Generalist experience preferred

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Current New York State license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
  • Specialized certifications as needed
  • Eight years of technical experience
  • Two to five years of leadership or management experience
  • Master's degree with two to four years of technical experience as an alternative qualification
  • Generalist clinical laboratory experience
