About the Role:Job Summary

The Clinical Equipment Services Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the Clinical Equipment Services program across all NGHS campuses. This role is responsible for fleet equipment lifecycle management, equipment utilization, system-wide PAR level compliance, budget oversight, staffing, regulatory compliance, and service performance. The Manager leads Clinical Equipment Services operations through campus Leads, directs equipment redistribution activities across the health system, and ensures equipment availability aligns with patient care needs. The Manager partners with clinical, operational, supply chain, and biomedical leaders to promote clinician compliance with equipment management practices, improve operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that support patient care, financial stewardship, and organizational goals.
 

Minimum Job Qualifications
  • Licensure or other certifications:
  • Educational Requirements: Associate's degree required in Healthcare Administration, Biomedical Equipment Technology, Healthcare Technology Management, or a related field
  • Minimum Experience: Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, clinical equipment services, healthcare technology management, biomedical services, or a related field. Three (3) or more years of leadership experience managing teams, operations, or programs.

  • Preferred Licensure or other certifications: AAMI or healthcare technology management certifications (CBET, CHTM, CABT) preferred.
  • Preferred Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Biomedical Equipment Technology, Healthcare Technology Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience with medical equipment management, fleet utilization, budgeting, capital planning, and operational performance improvement preferred.

  • Experience managing budgets, contracts, vendor relationships, and service performance metrics.
  • Ability to develop leaders, coach employees, and support workforce planning activities.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Lead the Clinical Equipment Services program and manage team leads to ensure consistent performance across the health system.
  • Oversee the lifecycle management of clinical service equipment, including acquisition, deployment, utilization, maintenance, replacement, and decommissioning.
  • Analyze equipment utilization, evaluate rental versus capital purchasing opportunities, and make recommendations that optimize operational and financial performance.
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets related to equipment, rentals, supplies, and fleet operations.
  • Lead decisions regarding equipment rentals, fleet management strategies, replacements, and capital purchases based on operational need, utilization data, and financial impact.
  • Ensure equipment availability and utilization align with patient care needs through partnership with clinical, operational, and supply chain leaders.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards, equipment-related regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Monitor equipment performance, service levels, and vendor compliance, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain effective training programs related to equipment operation, troubleshooting, cleaning, and safe use practices.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, improve equipment availability, and strengthen service delivery.
  • Conduct audits, review operational data, and perform routine rounding to evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and workforce development activities.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders, department managers, Biomedical Services, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to resolve operational challenges and support organizational initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and business partners to ensure high-quality service and contractual compliance.
  • Maintain accurate reporting on equipment inventory, utilization, operational performance, and financial metrics.
  • Support implementation of new technologies, equipment programs, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Participate in regulatory surveys and ensure departmental readiness for inspections and accreditation reviews.
  • Supports operational continuity through periodic on-call responsibilities and availability for occasional business-critical escalations.
