The practice is split across three pillars, and you will be expected to develop projects across the spectrum whilst offer subject matter expertise for areas based on your previous experience.
The pillars are:
- Physical risk and resilience – supporting our clients analyse and prepare for accelerating physical risks drawing on our climate risk insights, risk engineering capabilities, and insurance transfer products
- Carbon and Transition risk – helping our clients understand their transition risks using quantitative modelling and supporting them plot a pathway to Net Zero Sustainability – assisting our clients meet regulatory and investor requirements on sustainability disclosures and embedding ESG risks into their enterprise risk management frameworks and strategic roadmaps
Subsequently this role will require:
- Leading client engagements with excellent standards of quality and relationship management to become a long-term trusted advisor for our clients
- Working with other subject matter experts and junior consultants to d deliver services across all three pillars such as climate risk identification, scenario analysis, transition planning, adaptation, and associated reporting aligned to ISSB; as well as GHG accounting, impact assessments, and sustainability strategy
- Originating and/or supporting the development of related thought-leadership and engagement across Marsh Asia to develop novel insurance and risk management products which enable sustainability transitions
You will be a key member of the regional team and supported with subject matter experts across each pillar and a growing team of consultants. You will also have access to our international network of experts, across the entirety of Marsh McLennan.

We will count on you to:
- Build Marsh Climate & Sustainability’s external presence and visibility in key markets by engaging in external forums, contributing to thought leadership, and developing industry networks
- Lead and contribute to consulting projects across Asia where you have established credibility and experience
- Manage and deliver climate risk advisory services including risk identification, climate scenario analysis (transition and physical) and climate reporting
- Manage and deliver sustainability advisory services, identifying client’s problems, synthesizing core issues and develop innovative solution that integrate the wide set of disciplines and expertise required for complex sustainability challenges
- Develop relevant recommendations and solutions to enhance the management of sustainability and climate risk in a range of formats including reports, presentations and workshops both in-person and virtually
- Apply strong communications and influencing skills – capable of presenting complex analytical topics across all levels of an organization including senior stakeholders (boards of directors and C-suite)
What you need to have:
- Degree in business, environmental science or management, engineering or other academic field relevant to sustainability
- 5-10 years relevant experience in sustainability or climate change either in consulting or in-house – position will match level of experience
- Proven experience in building a consulting pipeline and business development, preferably in Asia
- Awareness and experience in the concepts and application of relevant international frameworks e.g. ISSB, GRI, SASB, ISO14001, GHG Principles, SBTi, TCFD
- The ability to provide professional advice to clients in developing and adjusting project approaches, methodology and tools to guide risk programs and initiatives

- Flexibility and adaptability to take on tasks that may be outside your comfort zone
- Postgraduate degree such as an MBA or Master’s degree in an academic field relevant to sustainability or specific accreditations e.g. GARP SCR
- Fluency or working proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and English
