Job Description

The Client Compliance team at IQ‑EQ Jersey plays a critical role in supporting our supervised clients to meet their regulatory obligations. We work collaboratively, share expertise, and strive for excellence in delivering high‑quality compliance services across a diverse client base. 

You will support the Client Compliance Lead in the delivery of the client compliance programme for supervised clients of IQ-EQ in Jersey. You will lead and contribute to initiatives that ensure high-quality and consistent delivery of the client compliance service offering across the Jersey cluster.  

You will also act as Money Laundering Compliance Officer (“MLCO”) for supervised clients within the Private and Institutional Asset Owners segment (and other segments as agreed from time to time), and fulfil all responsibilities associated with this “key person” role.  

What you'll do

  • You’ll lead financial crime risk oversight as MLCO, ensuring robust AML/CFT compliance, advising boards on obligations and emerging risks, and overseeing the effectiveness of the MLRO.
  • You’ll design, implement, and continuously improve risk‑based Compliance Monitoring Programmes, delivering clear, accurate reporting to client governing bodies.
  • You’ll support and execute the client compliance programme across a portfolio, ensuring consistent application of frameworks, tools, technologies, and regulatory standards.
  • You’ll manage day‑to‑day compliance activities including testing, remediation tracking, reporting, record‑keeping, and presenting insights at board meetings with strong attention to detail and deadlines.
  • You’ll provide leadership and guidance to junior team members, fostering high standards through coaching, quality reviews, collaboration, and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

  • You have a strong academic background with a recognised compliance qualification and a solid understanding of relevant legislation (including AML/CFT/CPF), Codes of Practice, and supervisory expectations within Jersey’s Trust and Funds sector.
  • You can design and execute risk-based compliance monitoring programmes, supported by strong analytical, numeracy, and monitoring skills, with familiarity in Virtual and Digital Assets as an advantage.
  • You confidently engage with boards, senior stakeholders, and regulated professionals, demonstrating clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication.
  • You effectively guide junior staff, review compliance outputs, and maintain high standards through excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • You possess strong IT proficiency and are skilled in using relevant applications to support compliance activities and reporting.

Skills Required

  • Recognised compliance qualification and strong academic background
  • Solid understanding of AML/CFT/CPF legislation, Codes of Practice and Jersey Trust and Funds supervisory expectations
  • Ability to act as Money Laundering Compliance Officer (MLCO) and fulfil key person responsibilities
  • Experience designing and executing risk‑based compliance monitoring programmes
  • Strong analytical, numeracy, monitoring skills and attention to detail
  • Confident engagement with boards and senior stakeholders; clear written and verbal communication
