Your Role: Manager – Cellular Expansion Operations

As the Manager for Cellular Expansion Operations you’ll lead operations to deliver the demand for monoclonal antibody bulk protein production. In this role you’ll directly oversee the operations team executing cellular expansion from bench top scale through production scale bio reactors and cross-functionally partner with support organizations to ensure manufacturing and quality excellence withing the manufacturing shopfloor.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Define and shape cultural standard for safety and quality by driving a compliance (cGMP, SOPs, manufacturing documentation) and “safety first quality always” mindset

  • Lead the cross-functional “Process team” through technical and operational excellence principles to achieve site performance, compliance, and technical objectives.

  • Engage in documentation processes for manufacturing record lifecycle management, change and deviation management, personnel performance, and production execution.

  • Manage and own business processes for financial scorecard, safety performance, personnel performance, and production/maintenance coordination, etc.

  • Passionately engage in personnel development, organizational development, and manufacturing process development.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education: Bachelors Degree in STEM related field

  • Experience: 5+ years experience in a regulated, commercial manufacturing environment with at least 2 years demonstrating successful leadership.

  • Experience in root cause investigation

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

  • Experience in cellular expansion or Bachelors degree in biomanufacturing related discipline

  • Monoclonal antibody manufacturing

  • Understanding of USDA, FDA, EU GMP, cGMP regulatory standards

  • Operational excellence, lean manufacturing, six sigma, TPS experience

  • Strength in cross-functional leadership

  • Experience with SAP, OSI PI, VEEVA

Additional Information:

  • Travel: occasional <5%

  • Location: Elwood, KS

  • The Elwood manufacturing facility is a 24/7/365 operation. This role has standard business hours and can anticipate occasional off-hour support needs.
