Role Summary: 

The Manager of Category Growth will support the development & execution of the overall growth and merchandising strategy of the business on Saks.com to achieve top-line sales objectives. This role reports to the Division Lead of Category Growth, who is responsible for leading a category on saks.com, and works closely with cross-functional partners to develop, implement, and execute data-driven channel strategies, marketing activations, and customer-centric site experiences.

Key Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of eCommerce, category management, site merchandising, and/or digital marketing experience

  • Ability to lead and develop future team leaders 

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and creative problem solving

  • Superior analytical skills and ability to create ad hoc reporting and analysis 

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail whilst operating in a fast-paced environment 

  • Fixated on driving growth with an ability to think outside of existing limitations 

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team

  • Customer-obsessed, focused on building a best-in-class digital experience

  • Ability to spearhead initiatives and run point on key projects that may fall outside of day-to-day responsibilities

  • Must have advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Analytics, with a capacity to learn new systems swiftly; experience with Adobe Analytics and Salesforce preferred

  • Prior experience working in luxury eCommerce a plus

Role Description: 

  • Oversees the category of business, and plays a key role in building the business plan and the strategic direction for that category in partnership with their Divisional Lead and key cross-functional teams

  • Uses data-driven insights to create a seamless customer experience on site. Continuously strives to better understand customer behavior and gain actionable insights to inform marketing and site enhancements

  • Manages key drivers behind sales, including: traffic, average order value and conversion, to achieve top-line sales plans for their category of business

  • Determines marketing priorities to drive the business, partnering with , media, content, and site merchandising teams to leverage key investment strategies and product launches on site

  • Builds dashboards to monitor the metrics that directly and indirectly drive digital growth. Conducts regular data analysis and market research to identify opportunities and take effective actions based upon findings

  • Ensures constant monitoring of customer activity, market channel data, and operational data to develop insightful analysis, strategize outsized growth for respective category, and report to relevant business stakeholders

  • Collaborates with internal and external teams. Work closely with marketing, pod members, operations, creative, product, as well as brand partners, to drive the success of saks.com

  • Develops quarterly calendars and strategies to drive sales for the overall category & individual brands onsite

  • Conducts business meetings with select vendor partners to review in-season business performance and adjust any future business strategies as needed
