About the Role
The Outsourced Accounting team provides advisory and finance function services to a diverse and exciting client base. These services include finance function reviews, finance transformation projects, management accounting services, bookkeeping, payroll, payroll reporting, Business Activity Statement preparation, digital application advisory, financial statement preparation, audit liaison and virtual CFO services, including budgeting and forecasting. Current Opportunity
We are seeking a manager to join our Outsourced Accounting team. This role is integral to our continued growth and our commitment to exceptional client service to our existing and expanding client base. The successful candidate will be part of our BDO Business Services & Outsourcing team.
The ideal candidate will work closely with our clients, demonstrating a keen interest in understanding their business drivers. With strong client management skills and demonstrated experience in an outsourced finance function, the candidate should have a passion for service and using technology in the provision of exceptional outcomes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver outsourced finance function services for our clients
- Assist with one-off finance transformation projects and the assessment, re-design, and implementation of the updated systems (including applications), processes and controls for better overall performance of our client's finance function.
- Support ongoing advisory work, including budgeting and forecasting and attendance at quarterly performance review meetings with the clients.
- Be the direct client contact on the outsourced finance function engagements.
- Lead and mentor junior team members.
- Manage risk for our clients and for BDO.
- Manage team utilisation, budgets and billings.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Proven experience in a similar role, delivering outsourced finance functions.
- Relevant tertiary qualification.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to influence and engage both internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems, including Xero (essential) and Dext, Approval Max, Fathom and Employment Hero (desirable).
- Ability to oversee a team and support their ongoing development.
- Resourcefulness, reliability, and conscientiousness with a willingness to work as part of team.
