General:
o Department: FP&A Sandoz Operations Finance
o Reports to: Associate Director FP&A, Sandoz Operations Finance
o Location: Hyderabad, India
Job Purpose:
Business intelligence dashboard developer will deliver end to end automated reports in Qlik Sense Cloud and Power BI, following finance business requirements collected by product owners.
o Design, build and run analytic dashboards as well as data flows, with primary focus on Qlik Sense Cloud and Power BI, turning business requirements into reliable, scalable solutions used across Finance.
o Develop high quality and user-friendly dashboards with robust back end logic and security layers, based on clean scripts and efficient data models.
o Collaborate with the stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data solutions.
o Operate and continuously improve the reporting landscape by monitoring reloads, troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance and delivering timely enhancements.
Major accountabilities:
o Build interactive dashboards leveraging master items and reusable visual patterns to translate user stories into performant front end designs with consistent look and feel in Qlik Sense Cloud and PowerBi.
o Engineer efficient data models via optimized keys, link tables, concatenations, ApplyMap frameworks, set analysis, calculated fields, and carefully curated master measures in Qlik and PowerBI. Implement layered architecture with parameterized incremental reload logic and robust error handling.
o Configure and monitor scheduled reloads, analyzing task/load logs to resolve failures and bottlenecks. Continuously reduce load time and memory footprint through script refactoring and model pruning in Qlik and PowerBI.
o Implement secure access and governance by defining role based rules, object/data level restrictions, stream/workspace permissions and audit trails. Align artifacts with enterprise data classification and confidentiality policies.
o Perform source to report reconciliations and maintain metric dictionaries and business logic documentation to assure consistency of KPIs across applications and datasets.
o Collaborate with IT/Data Engineering on connectors, gateways, and storage patterns. Document data lineage and dependencies is critical for successful collaboration between teams.
o Maintain version control and prepare rollback procedures.
o Standardize naming conventions and folder structures.
o Conduct root cause analysis to implement durable fixes and mitigation plans to minimize defects.
o Follow Agile methodology supported by Jira and Confluence for sprint planning and workload traceability.
Key performance indicators:
o Delivery of releases in line with agreed quality and time
o Dashboard stability
o Quality and performance of data models (row count accuracy, duplicate/key integrity, query response times, memory utilization).
o Reduction of manual effort via automation and reusable components (pipelines, templates, shared semantic entities).
Ideal background:
• Education:
o B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science, IT, Electronics, or Data Science
• Languages:
Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
• Work Experience:
o Hands on development of Qlik Sense Cloud applications end to end: scripting, data modeling, semantic layers, and UI/UX.
o Practical experience building Power BI dashboards and datasets/reports with Power Query/DAX, including security and scheduled refresh.
o Proven experience operating BI platforms: job scheduling, monitoring, debugging, and environment promotions.
o Experience working in Agile methodology: sprint activities
• Skills:
o Advanced scripting and data modeling (joins, link tables, ApplyMap, set analysis, incremental loads)
o QVD layer design and performance optimization
o Visualization craftsmanship & UX Patterns (dashboards, master items)
