Job Description: Manager Business DevelopmentJob PurposeWe are seeking an experienced professional with 10–12 years of service in Aerospace & Defence to lead business development for our Defence and Space portfolio. This role requires a strategic leader who can bridge the gap between operational military requirements and Airbus’ cutting-edge aerospace solutions. The successful candidate will navigate the complex Indian defense procurement landscape to drive growth and long-term partnerships.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarket Intelligence & Future Systems Strategy: Lead comprehensive market research and analysis including but not limited to the Future Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) and Derivatives portfolio, identifying long-term operational trends and emerging requirements within the Indian Armed Forces.
Opportunity Generation: Leverage deep domain expertise to identify and build new business opportunities; transform high-level military requirements into actionable capture plans and technical proposals in consultations with the respective KAMs.
High-Level Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary interface between Airbus internal teams and senior external stakeholders,, to align technology offerings with national security needs.
Sales Campaign Support: Provide strategic support to Key Account Managers during the execution of complex sales campaigns, contributing the "operational voice" to ensure winning, user-centric proposals.
Salesforce: Act as the primary lead for Salesforce data management for the Defence and Space portfolio; ensure 100% data integrity for sales opportunities and lead tracking to support precise executive forecasting.
Internal Liaison: Collaborate with global product teams to align the Airbus products development roadmap with the specific technical and indigenization (Make in India) requirements of the Indian market.
Business Expertise: Ability to serve as the primary interface between internal Airbus teams and senior external stakeholders to align technology offerings with national security needs. Market Intelligence & Analysis: Skills in conducting comprehensive market research for the Defence and Space portfolio to identify long-term operational trends.
Strategic Communication: Ability to articulate complex technical solutions and value propositions to senior military and civil leadership.
Technical Proficiency: Expert proficiency in Google Workspace for collaborative strategy development and data-driven analysis including Google Slides
CRM Mastery: Advanced hands-on experience or proficiency in Salesforce for pipeline management, opportunity tracking, and reporting is an added advantage.
Regulatory Mastery: Expert-level knowledge of the Defence Acquisition Policy (DAP) and Defence Procurement Manual (DPM) of the Ministry of Defence.
Analytical Rigor: Strong structuring skills with the ability to translate complex procurement cycles into clear milestones and internal action plans.
Professional Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree (such as an MBA) is preferred.
Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience in Aerospace or Defence sectors.
Preferred Exposure: Experience in market analysis, procurement and Business Development. Ability to understand and analyse Defence budgets. .
