What You’ll Do

As the Manager of Business Development, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Minitab’s future by:

  • Coaching and Growing the BDR Team: Inspire, mentor, and empower our Business Development Representatives to achieve their highest potential. Your guidance will help build a high-performing team capable of exceeding expectations.
  • Develop Outbound Activity and Consume Inbound Leads: Facilitate outbound whitespace prospecting, prospecting into accounts and inbound lead coversion; Develop an outbound prospecting "playbook" including a roadmap for best use of our sales tech stack; Pair BDR's with Enterprise and Mid-Market Sales Team Members to plan and execute prospecting activities into existing accounts and targeting of whitespace new accounts; Ensure efficient and effective consumption of inbound Marketing Qualified Leads (MQL's) by the BDR team, while providing appropriate process improvement feedback to the Marketing teams.
  • Partnering Across the Organization: Collaborate effectively with stakeholders in sales, marketing, and other departments to align strategies and deliver exceptional results.
  • Robust Process Adherence:  Ensure high quality call notes in CRM to facilitate an excellent hand off of qualified opportunities to sales team members; Identification of patterns and trends of the BDR team's activities while identifying leading indicators to drive stronger results; Ensure 100% adoption of the Sales Tech Stack Tools and identify areas to optimize the capabilities to increase effectiveness; lay the groundwork for BDR team expansion and specialization by industry to ensure the team is working a scalable way

What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • Experience: 7+ years of business development experience both as an individual contributor and as a Manager, with at least 5 years as a manager demonstrating a proven track record of developing top-performing direct reports into sales roles and exceeding quotas.
  • Industry Knowledge: A solid background in the software industry, understanding its unique dynamics and challenges.
  • Leadership Excellence: A strong desire and ability to teach, coach, and mentor your team—not just to hit goals but to grow in all aspects of their professional lives.
  • Adaptability: If remote frequent travel to the office required.

RETIREMENT PLANNING:  A 401k Retirement Plan with T. Rowe Price is provided with eligible employee contribution immediately. Minitab will match dollar for dollar up to the first 6% of employee’s contribution. Employees are fully vested in the Minitab, LLC 401(k) Retirement Plan upon date of hire.

PAID TIME OFF:  Paid holidays, as well as 4 weeks of annual paid time off are provided. The annual paid time off increases one week every five years.

HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE:  We offer a hybrid work model for eligible positions.

PREMIUM BENEFITS:  At our State College, PA Headquarters, there is an onsite gym, indoor swimming pool, yoga studio, movie theater, outdoor sand volleyball court, game room, arcade room and even a golf simulator. Personal training and nutrition counseling is available upon request.
