About the Role
• Manage existing accounts as part of a larger account team or manage named accounts within a geography for a particular product or product set.• Develop, implement and administer sales and distribution plans and programmes on a geographical basis for the agency channel
This role contributes to the delivery of customer outcomes that are reliable, thoughtful, and create meaningful impact for customers and society. The role holder is expected to embed a customer first mindset in all decisions and actions by developing a clear understanding of customer needs, taking end to end ownership to resolve issues, and working collaboratively across teams to continuously enhance the customer journey—both directly and indirectly.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategy & Channel Governance (10%):
- Support the Head of Business Development in driving overall channel strategy, governance, and performance management to achieve business objectives.
Sales Leadership & Team Management (5%):
- Lead, coach, and mentor the AIA Agency sales team, driving motivation, accountability, and performance to meet individual and team sales targets.
Sales Planning & Execution (50%):
- Develop and implement sales strategies and annual business plans, streamline processes, and oversee the execution of sales initiatives, campaigns, and product launches.
Business Development & Relationship Management (15%):
- Identify and expand new districts while strengthening relationships with key district directors and agency leaders.
Technical Expertise & Client Support (15%):
- Act as a subject matter expert in General Insurance (GI), providing professional advice, handling complex enquiries, and delivering tailored solutions.
Performance Monitoring & Collaboration (5%):
- Track and analyze sales performance metrics, provide actionable insights, collaborate cross-functionally, and support strategic and ad hoc projects.
Job Requirements:
- University degree in Business Administration or related disciplines; or a Diploma in Insurance or relevant fields
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, with mandatory exposure in the General Insurance industry
- Strategic, forward thinking, customer-oriented and result-oriented;
- Proactive, attention to details, able to work under pressure in a dynamic and changing environment to meet agreed timelines;
- Excellent judgment, problem-solving, decision-making and leadership skills;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Chinese Word Processing
Others:
- Fulfil the “fit and proper” criteria set by the Insurance Authority for licensing as an individual insurance agent of the Company, including meeting the minimum education and qualification requirements (e.g. passes in IIQE Papers 1 & 2, subject to regulated activities)
- Professional insurance qualifications such as IIQAS, LOMA, ANZIIF (Senior Associate), or equivalent will be an advantage
- You are required to obtain relevant license if your job involves in regulated activities
