Job Description

Join a team where resilience, preparation and confident decision-making make a real difference. At EDF, Success is Personal. As our Manager of Business Continuity, you’ll help strengthen how Enterprise IT prepares for disruption, protects critical services and supports colleagues, customers and communities when it matters most.

The Opportunity

As Manager of Business Continuity, you’ll lead and develop Enterprise IT’s continuity capability, setting the direction and bringing plans and governance together. You’ll give senior leaders clear visibility of readiness, risk and improvement, helping EDF respond to disruption, recover effectively and strengthen the resilience of critical services as we work towards An Electric Britain.

You’ll join us on a salary starting of £70,720 per annum, with the potential for an annual bonus. This is a flexible role, with location open across the UK and a willingness to travel to EDF sites when needed. You'll enjoy flexibility in how and where you work while maintaining strong connections with colleagues across our #UK operations.

From continuity planning and resilience testing to crisis response and recovery governance, you'll have the opportunity to influence senior stakeholders and drive meaningful improvements. You'll also build expertise across cyber resilience, operational recovery, supplier assurance and incident management within a complex national organisation.

Who You Are

We're looking for a Manager of Business Continuity who is calm, credible and collaborative, with hands-on experience of building capability and the ability to influence stakeholders and translate complex disruption risks into clear business outcomes. Are you experienced in...?

  • Business Continuity, Operational Resilience or crisis management within a complex organisation
  • Leading real continuity, recovery or crisis activity—not just writing plans
  • Business Impact Assessments, continuity planning, exercising, assurance, lessons learned and improvement tracking
  • Supporting major incidents, cyber events, operational disruption or crisis response
  • Working with and influencing senior leaders, technical, operational and business stakeholders, including senior leaders and federated teams
  • Using evidence, measures and assurance to improve readiness and resilience over time
  • A recognised Business Continuity or resilience qualification, and knowledge of ISO 22301, would be valuable. However, we’d also welcome proven delivery experience, sound judgement and the ability to make continuity work in practice.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Clearance (SC), which will, ordinarily, require you to have British residency for the last five years.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own the capability: establish and lead Enterprise IT’s Business Continuity Management System, roadmap, governance and standards, aligned with EDF’s wider resilience arrangements.
  • Understand what matters: lead Business Impact Assessments and dependency mapping to identify prioritised activities, the impacts of disruption, acceptable service levels and resource requirements.
  • Turn insight into continuity: develop practical continuity strategies and plans that enable teams to sustain or resume prioritised activities within agreed timescales during disruption.
  • Build confidence through exercising: design and deliver exercises that validate plans, clarify roles, strengthen decision-making and turn lessons into owned improvements.
  • Coordinate the continuity response: provide Business Continuity leadership during significant disruption, supporting impact assessment, business prioritisation, escalation and clear stakeholder communication.
  • Drive measurable improvement: build strong partnerships across Enterprise IT, EDF business areas and key suppliers, using assurance, performance measures and action tracking to improve organisational resilience.

Pay, Benefits and Culture

Alongside a starting salary of £70,720 per annum, potential for an annual bonus, and a market-leading pension scheme, your package will include customisable benefits such as electric vehicle leasing, discounted gym membership, life assurance, tech vouchers, experience days, and more.

At EDF, we believe there are multiple definitions of what it means to succeed. That’s why we offer you the freedom to develop a career that’s unique to you. Here, Success is Personal – it’s your journey, powered by us.

Everyone is welcome at EDF; we’re committed to building a workforce that reflects gender balance, social mobility, and inclusion of minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+ communities, and those with disabilities. As a Disability Confident employer, we will support applicants requiring adjustments.

Join us and find your success at EDF!

Closing date for applications: Monday 17th August
