School of Performing Arts:

The School of Performing Arts is part of the College of Arts and Humanities and comprises the Music and Theatre programs with more than 100 faculty and staff serving more than 1,000 undergraduate and graduate students earning degrees in the performing arts as well as thousands of students from other majors across the university taking music, theatre and dance classes. It produces outstanding practitioners, educators, and scholars in Music and Theatre while fostering a strong relationship between the community and the artists.

The Opportunity:

The Box Office Manager is responsible for the management and supervision of all front house and ticketing operations for the UCF School of Performing Arts. This includes supervision of student workers in various capacities, management of the box office, and working at production events at the theatre box office while overseeing student front-of-house (FOH).

Responsibilities:

Management of daily ticket office & house management operations including:

• Developing and implementing policies and procedures; staffing, training, scheduling.

• Oversight and supervision of tickets, ticket sales, customer service, and patron correspondence; running the box office at performances.

• Run the Front of House Operations and the Show Box Office prior to and during performances, including communication and collaboration with marketing, artistic and production, maintain box office and front of house schedules that are visible to all stakeholders on teams. Supervision of all FOH student workers, including house managers and ushers, at performances.

• Hiring/assigning, training, and supervision of student ticket office assistants (both work study hires and FOH/Box Office Student practicum assignments) who work in the main box office 12-5 p.m. daily. Evaluate student performance in all FOH/Box Office assignments each semester. 

• Other duties include maintenance of ticketing systems, and some interfacing with marketing.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6). 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree.

• Experience with customer service, public interaction.

• Box office/patron services professional experience in a theatre setting.

• Proven supervisory skills.

• Demonstrated organizational skills.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

• This position requires availability on occasional nights and weekends.

• Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license. This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
