Corporate Accounting supports all of Fullsteam as the centralized accounting team responsible for ensure proper accounting for Fullsteam’s daily transactions and financial results. This includes ensuring the financial statements are reported in compliance with U.S GAAP and as required under Fullsteam’s lender reporting requirements.

The Fullsteam Finance team is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Billing Manager who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s billing operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency across the billing cycle. The Billing Manager will lead a team of billing specialists, implementing process improvements, and partner closely with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and support strategic growth. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity, a working manager role that is both highly visible and impactful. This role will not only guide the team but also stay closely involved in daily operations to ensure deliverables are met and exceeded.

The ideal candidate is results-driven, highly process focused, and passionate about building scalable, best-in-class billing operations. Success in this role requires excellent leadership skills, strong business partnership abilities, and outstanding communication skills, with the confidence to engage and present effectively to stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

This role is primarily remote but will require periodic trips to our Atlanta or Auburn office for meetings.  The timing of travel will be planned with significant advance notice.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end billing process, including invoicing, statement generation, and timely distribution.
  • Develop and implement billing policies and procedures to drive efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across the organization.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of billing information, including pricing, discounts, terms; while investigating and resolving disputes or discrepancies promptly.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Revenue, Operations, and Finance to align billing practices and support strategic objectives.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze billing reports to ensure data integrity and provide actionable insights.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize, scale, and continuously improve billing and collections processes.
  • Perform the bad debt reserve calculation and CECL analysis as part of the month-end close process.
  • Own and execute the price change/uplift process in partnership with Pricing and Operations teams.
  • Partner with the Finance Integrations team to centralize billing, including transitioning billing resources from new acquisitions and harmonizing processes to align with Fullsteam’s billing model.
  • Collaborate with the Zuora (OneBilling) project team to support training, adoption, and smooth transition of business units from legacy systems.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of billing specialists in a hands-on player/coach capacity.
  • Set clear performance goals, conduct regular evaluations, and provide constructive feedback to foster growth and accountability.
  • Act as an escalation point for customer billing inquiries, ensuring issues are addressed with professionalism and a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations impacting billing to maintain compliance and uphold internal controls.

Primary Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • 10+ years work experience in Billing and Accounting
  • 8+ years in Finance / Accounting leadership roles overseeing a large team
  • SaaS or multi-company back-office operating experience preferred
  • Experience with Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL)
  • NetSuite Suite billing experience required
  • Zuora experience preferred
  • Salesforce experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of billing and collections processes, including experience in building policy and process to compel timely billing.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Hands-on leadership skills with a pragmatic business-focused approach to the delivery of service and projects alike, being decisive and action-oriented, where necessary
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams: achieving organizational focus on key priorities, providing clear direction, delegating, actively communicating and coaching/mentoring
  • Outstanding verbal/written communication, ability to liaison with all levels of the organization.
