EDUCATION • Degree or equivalent work experience equally preferable CERTIFICATIONS WORK EXPERIENCE • Experience executing compensation programs in a large organization • Knowledge of base pay, total compensation, organizational job review and structuring, external market data analysis, and compensation regulations FUNCTIONAL SKILLS • Understanding of the financial services regulatory environment is preferred • Understanding of FLSA and other applicable regulations • Client management skills • Proficient in gathering compensation-related market and competitive intelligence • Ability to interpret and analyze compensation and labor market data to assess: comparable worth; benchmarking; internal alignment; external competitiveness • Deep understanding of compensation philosophies (lead; lag; match; lead-lag); compensation plans (salary; cost-of-living adjustment; merit increase; bonus structure; domestic workers; global workers; expatriates; executives; shift workers; part-time employees) • Advanced knowledge of deferred compensation; direct and indirect compensation • Deep understanding of pay practices and issues: pay increases; base pay; pay levels; banding; variable pay; pay compression; pay equity; pay transparency; market data • Experience implementing and tracking relevant compensation metrics and benchmarks (compa-ratio, etc.) • Basic accounting and financial knowledge • Proficient with MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint • Experience using Workday a plus FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS • Communicates effectively • Identifies multiple paths to success using analytical and critical thinking as well as decision-making skills • Exercises sound judgement, prioritizes effectively, and strives for continuous improvement. Recognizes and escalates potential issues appropriately • Effectively collaborates with colleagues • Leverages available technology to drive efficiency and results • Understands and applies industry trends and best practices • Exhibits optimism, resilience, flexibility, and openness to others' ideas • Values learning as a lifelong professional objective • Engages inclusively and with intent • Always acts with integrity • Ability to work with all levels of management and employees • Team oriented • Strong collaboration skills RESPONSIBILITIES • Collaborates with performance and rewards leaders on the design and delivery of compensation programs including the execution of the annual compensation review process for the business lines supported • Own and execute the bank’s incentive governance framework for all business incentive and compensation plans in assigned client groups • Provide support for the incentive design process for the business lines’ incentive compensation plans, partnering closely with the business, finance, compliance, risk and the HR business partner • Provide analysis and insights on base salary, bonus and equity programs • Provide analysis to support compliance with all relevant regulations in assigned business lines • Execute the annual market survey process for assigned business lines • Develop solutions to effectively deliver market data and the appropriate analysis to the business lines • Perform ad hoc analysis to support business needs • Provide project management and execute strategic projects for compensation
