We're seeking an Assurance Manager to join our growing team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced public accounting professional who enjoys leading client engagements, mentoring teams, and serving as a trusted advisor to middle-market businesses across a variety of industries.
As an Assurance Manager, you'll play a key role in managing audits, reviews, and compilations while partnering closely with clients and helping develop the next generation of assurance professionals. You'll join a collaborative, close-knit team that's expanding in the marketplace and creating significant opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
This role is ideally based in Portland, Oregon, with a hybrid work schedule, though we're open to exceptional candidates throughout the Pacific Northwest, including Seattle, who can support occasional in-person team and client needs.
What You'll Do:
- Lead multiple audit, review, and compilation engagements from planning through completion.
- Manage day-to-day client relationships and serve as a trusted point of contact throughout engagements.
- Review workpapers, financial statements, and engagement deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance.
- Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and timely feedback to seniors and staff.
- Collaborate with partners, directors, and engagement teams to deliver exceptional client service.
- Supervise engagement teams of varying sizes across a diverse client portfolio.
- Help develop talent through mentorship, training, and ongoing professional development.
- Support business growth by fostering strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand services.
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of public accounting experience with a focus on assurance, audit, and attest services.
- Experience managing engagements and serving as the primary contact for clients.
- Strong background reviewing audit workpapers, financial statements, and engagement deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience supervising, mentoring, and developing staff.
- Experience serving clients in one or more of the following industries:
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and project management skills.
- Ability to balance multiple engagements while delivering exceptional client service.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- CPA preferred, but not required. Candidates with strong assurance experience and leadership capabilities are encouraged to apply
Skills Required
- Four-year bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Licensed CPA
- 4–7 years of experience working for a public accounting firm
- Developed specialty in nonprofit organizations
- Ability to manage, coach, and develop staff accountants
- Analytical skills related to financial statements and other financial information
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Initiative and willingness to lead, make decisions, and work independently
- Master's degree
