Job Description:
The Application Engineering Manager for EMEA holds a highly visible role within the organization, leading the applications and field engineering team to deliver top-tier technical support, product configuration, and project design services in the assigned market. This position is responsible for managing the scope of services and associated processes, ensuring excellence in technical support for a rapidly growing market.
- Lead and manage a team of Applications Engineers and Field Applications Engineers, providing guidance on task prioritization aligned with the company’s strategic priorities.
- Develop and maintain expert technical knowledge of the company’s product offerings and their applications.
- Analyze aggregated project cost data to determine the competitive positioning of products.
- Identify and train independent engineers in the region to enhance product differentiation against competitors.
- Create and deliver technical presentations during customer meetings.
- Drive product and process improvements to increase commercial success.
- Collaborate with the geographically distributed sales team to provide exceptional technical support.
- Build strong technical relationships with customer engineering teams.
- Work with customers to identify technical requirements in Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
- Provide prompt responses to inquiries related to projects or product design.
- Perform preliminary structural design activities to support the bidding process.
- Address and resolve technical issues escalated by the Applications Engineering team.
- Support the development and evaluation of software tools and applications used by the group.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Over 5 years of experience in sales, project development, applications engineering, or related roles.
- More than 5 years of experience supporting national or international markets.
- At least 2 years of experience in:
- Understanding utility-scale solar mounting products and ability to articulate technological differences.
- Analyzing solar project economics (production, CAPEX, OPEX, LCOE).
- Navigating technical requirements for development, construction, and operation of solar plants.
- Master’s degree or advanced engineering qualification.
- Experience managing engineering teams, especially remote teams.
- Recognized as a thought leader in the industry.
- Ability to work cross-functionally in agile, fast-growing organizations
