Pfizer is seeking an experienced analytics and data science professional with strong technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills to deliver solution‑oriented insights and strategic contributions to an innovative and evolving analytics organization within the Legal Division.
TheManager, Analytics & Data Science will play a key role in delivering risk and compliance insights as part of the Legal Division's analytics capability. This role will partner closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to develop data‑driven analyses that identify and quantify compliance risk, performance, and effectiveness. This role will be supported and mentored by a team of seasoned analytics and data science experts, providing strong opportunities for professional growth and development.
The Manager is responsible for hands‑on technical development, execution of analytics and data science initiatives, and translating complex results into clear, actionable insights for business partners. Reporting to the Global Ethics & Risk Management Analytics Lead, this role contributes directly to advancing analytics‑enabled transformation and insight delivery across the Division.
Role Responsibilities
- Deliver end‑to‑end solutions supporting risk management and compliance objectives, leveraging capabilities in data management, ETL, visualizations, statistical analysis, and ML/advanced analytics
- Build, maintain, and enhance analytics solutions, including workflows, dashboards, models, and other advanced analytics processes
- Conduct hypothesis-driven and ad hoc analyses across multiple data sources, structured and unstructured
- Partner with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, align deliverables, and support data-driven decision making
- Translate complex results into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Lead QC strategy to mitigate data quality issues, automate detection of QC issues, and drive process improvements that enhance overall data quality
- Develop and maintain documentation of projects and processes to support reproducibility and knowledge sharing
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required. A degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, engineering, or computer science is preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience in analytics or data science, preferable within complex or regulated environments; candidates with fewer years of experience may be considered with demonstrated expertise or proven achievements
- Strong understanding of data analytics methodologies, visualization techniques, and insight delivery
- Working knowledge of statistics and machine learning concepts
- Strong experience with ETL and automation tools is required, Alteryx, Dataiku preferred
- Strong experience with at least one viz tool, Tableau preferred
- Strong experience with SQL and at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R)
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage time and prioritize effectively
- Strong learning agility with strategic, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate complex analytical concepts, methods, and results into simple, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Degree
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in compliance, risk mitigation, or audit related function
- Experience with generative artificial intelligence (AI) and applications in analytics/data science
