The Regional Development Manager (RDM) is responsible for driving agency growth, productivity, and leadership development across assigned branches. This role serves as the key field leader supporting Agency Managers and Unit Managers to strengthen business performance, talent pipeline, and agent activation, while ensuring alignment with regional strategies and company objectives.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:   

1. Agency Performance & Business Growth 

  • Drive business performance , focusing on key indicators such as APE, recruitment, active agents, productivity, and case count. 
  • Monitor branch and agency performance regularly, identify gaps, and work with Agency Managers on improvement plans. 
  • Guide agencies in executing regional and company-driven initiatives to improve sales momentum and agent activity. 
  • Track progress against targets and provide timely updates to Assistant Director of Agency. 

2. Field Leadership & Agency Support 

  • Act as the primary development and support contact for Agency Managers and Unit Managers within assigned branches. 
  • Conduct regular agency visits, engagement sessions, and performance discussions. 
  • Support Agency Managers in people management matters such as agent engagement, activity discipline, and team motivation. 
  • Reinforce company direction, campaigns, and key messages consistently across branches. 

3. Recruitment & Talent Pipeline Development 

  • Support agency recruitment efforts, including activation of new agents and strengthening onboarding effectiveness. 
  • Identify and support potential future leaders within agencies (e.g. UM pipeline). 
  • Work with Agency Managers to improve agent retention and productivity in early career stages. 

4. Leadership Development & Coaching 

  • Support development of Unit Managers (UM1/UM2) through coaching conversations, performance reviews, and structured interventions. 
  • Reinforce leadership behaviours, sales discipline, and talent grooming within agencies. 
  • Collaborate with Assistant Director of Agency on leadership readiness, promotions, and succession planning. 

5. Coordination, Reporting & Governance Support 

  • Prepare concise performance summaries, concerns, and recommendations for Assistant Director of Agency. 
  • Support agency governance matters such as promotions, contests, and recognition alignment (as guided). 
  • Ensure accurate dissemination of information related to campaigns, recognition criteria, and agency initiatives. 
  • Maintain professional and compliant communication with agencies at all times. 

 

Job Specification:    

 

Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. 

 

Experience 

  • Strong background in agency distribution / salesdriven environments.  

  • Strong field leadership and people management skills 

  • Good business acumen with ability to interpret agency performance data 

  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills 

  • Coaching and development mindset 

  • Ability to manage multiple branches and priorities concurrently 

  • High level of ownership, accountability, and follow-through
