What to expect:
- You will act as an actuarial and financial model advisor to GC Analytics and brokers
- Assess reinsurance structures from an actuarial perspective, monitor industry developments, research and respond to information requests, and provide timely and accurate service.
We will count on you to:
- Act as an advisor, delivering a coherent and compelling narrative after drawing insights and conclusions from actuarial analyses.
- Evaluate and communicate with internal GC resources on reinsurance-related risk by interrogating data, performing experience and exposure rating, and understanding the drivers of the results
- Model the probability distributions of the gross/ceded/net underwriting results of an insurance company client based on an actuarial analysis of frequency and severity focusing on a large losses using proprietary software.
- Analyze how the distribution of results and relevant risk measures change as a result of application on various proposed reinsurance alternatives.
- Utilize cost/benefit analysis to advise brokers and clients "optimal" reinsurance programs based on risk tolerance level.
- Evaluate historical experience of treaties for use in negotiation of renewals and commutations.
- Flexibility to work on variety of A&H products as needed.
- Work independently in delivering value to GC and its clients
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and infrastructure to enhance GC offerings
What you need to have:
- 5-7 years of relevant health actuarial experience
- Fellowship designation.
- Bachelors’ degree in quantitative field such as Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining good client and internal relationships.
- Strong computer skills for using SQL & Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
- Robust data management skills: ability to manipulate, interpret, and extrapolate complex data.
