Job Summary:
The Manager, Accounting role is responsible for managing the daily operations of the accounting and reporting functions.
Essential Functions:
- Manage, review and ensure completion of all internal and external financial statements including the compilation and presentation of regulatory financial statements, etc. on a timely and accurate basis
- Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments and obligations to assist in predicting future revenues and expenses
- Review and approve internal/external payment requests for contracted arrangements to ensure timely, accurate payment
- Evaluate and make appropriate recommendations to internal accounting processes ensuring that practices are in line with the overall goals of the organization
- Maintain all necessary internal controls for related entities consistent with Model Audit Rule (MAR) requirements
- Lead the audit and ensure compliance with audit and reporting functions
- Research existing and new legislation, changes in financial accounting standards and National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) statutory requirements, including accounting transactions, and documents the impact and accounting requirements, including journal entries and financial reporting presentation and disclosures, in compliance with GAAP, STAT and/or other external reporting
- Identify and oversee accounting requirements for new programs or program changes
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting-related systems
- Ensure on-time filing of all internal and external financial reports
- Review ad-hoc requests for information, schedules and analysis for specific area(s)
- Responsible for management of departmental staff, providing performance management and goal evaluation to direct reports
- Fiduciary duty to safeguard the financial assets of the Company
- Perform any other job duties as requested
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in accounting, finance or related field or equivalent work experience required
- Business related post-graduate degree is preferred
- Six (6) years of related experience in accounting/finance is required
- Previous management experience is preferred
- Managed care or healthcare experience is preferred
- Previous experience in a large ERP system is preferred

- Familiar with a variety of accounting concepts, practices and procedures
- Extensive Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Statutory Accounting Principles (STAT)
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Ability to lead and direct the work of others including the development, motivation and rewarding of staff
- Wide degree of creativity and latitude (independent judgment) is required
- Demonstrates decision making and analytical/problem solving skills to perform a variety of complicated tasks

- Ability to interact with all levels of management as well as external audit management

Licensure and Certification:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other equivalent certification is preferred
Working Conditions:
- General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- May be required to travel occasionally
Compensation Range:
$94,100.00 - $164,800.00CareSource takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training, and experience as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role, and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level. In addition to base compensation, you may qualify for a bonus tied to company and individual performance.
