Overview
Mastercard's Community Institutions team is launching Team Catalyst, an innovative new account management model designed to redefine how we partner with our longer-tail customers.
As customer expectations evolve and operational complexity increases, we are transforming from a traditional one-to-one account management structure to a collaborative, team-based model that enables us to deliver deeper expertise, greater consistency, and broader access to Mastercard's capabilities.
Team Catalyst is an incubation team focused on building the future of customer partnership and engagement.

This role offers a unique opportunity to help design, build, and scale a new model while directly influencing customer growth, experience, and operational excellence across a portfolio of Community Institution customers.

The Role
As a Manager, Account Management on Team Catalyst, you will help shape and execute the future vision for customer engagement within Mastercard's Community Institutions segment.
You will combine strategic thinking, customer relationship management, business development, and operational excellence to drive measurable outcomes for both customers and Mastercard.
Working within a highly collaborative team environment, you will identify opportunities, build scalable solutions, drive execution, and continuously refine our approach to customer growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Innovate: Help evolve Mastercard's next-generation account management model for Community Institutions, identifying new ways to scale customer engagement, drive operational efficiency, and enhance the customer experience.
- Strategize: Develop and execute customer engagement strategies that drive growth, improve customer outcomes, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
- Advise: Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leaders by understanding their business objectives, strategic priorities, operating challenges, and market opportunities.
- Champion: Lead strategic initiatives from concept through execution, partnering across Mastercard to design solutions, align stakeholders, and deliver measurable outcomes for customers and the business.
- Collaborate: Partner closely with teams across Product, Services, Technology, Operations, Marketing, and Sales to bring the full breadth of Mastercard capabilities to customers and accelerate adoption of solutions that deliver meaningful business value.
- Negotiate: Own the end-to-end deal lifecycle for customer renewals and growth opportunities, including RFP responses, deal modeling, contract negotiations, and stakeholder alignment.
- Engage: Design and execute scalable customer engagement strategies through 1:1, 1:few, and 1:many programs, including webinars, office hours, customer education forums, thought leadership campaigns, and portfolio-wide communications.

In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance); flexible spending account and health savings account; paid leaves (including 16 weeks of new parent leave and up to 20 days of bereavement leave); 80 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time, 25 days of vacation time and 5 personal days, pro-rated based on date of hire; 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays; 401k with a best-in-class company match; deferred compensation for eligible roles; fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities; eligibility for tuition reimbursement; and many more. Mastercard benefits for interns generally include: 56 hours of Paid Sick and Safe Time; jury duty leave; and on-site fitness facilities in some locations.

New York City, New York: $151,000 - $242,000 USD
