ROLE TITLE: Manager, Accelerate - Satellite Coaching (Full-Time)

WHAT YOU’LL DO
We are looking for an innovative team player who is passionate about developing and retaining early career teachers. The ideal candidate is committed to teacher development and will live out the belief that, even in the first few years in the classroom, teachers have the ability to transform the lives and education of students. You will work alongside a 13 person team serving over 250 classrooms in Pre-K centers and K-12 public schools across Missouri and satellite regions nationwide. You will work in partnership with school administration and community partners at multiple sites to develop a scope and sequence for development across the year for early career teachers and their school-based mentors, prioritizing both individual development and community building to contribute to culture and retention. The goals for this role include four programmatic outcomes centered on teacher retention, proficiency, and satisfaction, as well as administrator and partner satisfaction measures.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Provide development and alignment with participants and partners in satellite regions - 55%
Establish rapport quickly with participants and partners in order to build deep and trusting relationships that allow coaching to go deeper faster
Work directly with a cohort of ~35 teachers observing recorded and live instruction and executing individual coaching aligned to best practices for support for beginning teachers
Meet regularly with satellite partners to ensure alignment of support for participating teachers
Work in collaboration with the Managing Director, Accelerate - Coaching to form open and collaborative relationships with schools, ensuring alignment of support between Accelerate and the partner’s vision and strategy
Travel quarterly to satellite regions to complete in-person coaching cycles
Collaborate with the Accelerate Leadership Team to develop and facilitate virtual small group development for a cohort of satellite participants - 20%
Design and facilitate group development sessions, both in-person and virtually, according to scope and sequence
Collect, analyze, share, and respond to data regarding the effectiveness of the program
Share regular updates on participant satisfaction with the Managing Director, Accelerate - Professional Development to help inform the direction of programming
Travel quarterly to satellite regions to complete in-person small group development
Work in close collaboration with the Accelerate team to build contextual expertise, engage in learning and development, and sustain strong relationships with colleagues - 10%
Attend regular Accelerate team meetings and 1:1s with the Accelerate leadership team
Engage in collaboration and consultancy with colleagues on the Accelerate team
Fulfill regional priorities and strategic initiatives - 15%
Participate in all enterprise and regional staff events and responsibilities, including selection of incoming corps members, regional Practicum support in partner regions, and other key priorities
A WEEK IN THE LIFE
Your week might include virtual or in-person classroom observations, leading small group professional development, meeting with partners and stakeholders, attending team meetings and shared field time, and flexing your calendar to adjust to the needs of your participants. You’ll execute the Accelerate coaching model with support from the leadership team, adjust and internalize group development sessions for facilitation, and manage your calendar in real time to ensure a positive experience for participants and partners.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):
3 - 5 years teaching or instructional coaching experience
Strong track record of student achievement teaching in a K-12 classroom
Reliable transportation to and from the Teach for America - Kansas City office location
Proficiency in problem-solving through change to best meet participant and partner needs
Ability to travel out-of-region regularly for satellite regional programming
Experience community building and leading groups to work toward a common goal
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working directly with new and early career teachers
Experience working in rural communities
Experience leading adults and facilitating professional development highly preferred
Work demands:
Evening and weekend work required across the year
Ability to lift and transport up to 30 pounds

As Manager, Accelerate - Satellite Coaching, you will be a member of both the Teach for America - Missouri team and the Accelerate team. The Accelerate team believes that “One Day” begins with cultivating resilient and authentic teachers, and does that work through structured development and support to participating teachers in collaboration with school and community partners. As a result, our teachers are more likely to feel part of a connected and thriving community, increase their instructional proficiency, and remain committed to their community’s educational landscape. You will be doing this work alongside a team of coaches working across Pre-K - 12th grade classrooms in Missouri.
YOUR COMPENSATION
The applicable salary range for each U.S.-based role is based on where the employee works and is aligned to one of 3 tiers according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The expected salary ranges for this role are set forth below. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Tier A: $61,300 - $82,000
