Artemis makes equity and debt investments in commercial real estate located throughout the United States.

Job Summary

Artemis, a Barings company is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to support the Finance and Operations team efforts. The position will report directly to the Managing Director on the Finance and Accounting team. In this capacity, the new hire will work with senior management and business leaders to prepare financial planning, analysis, and reporting materials, support budgeting and forecasting processes, maintain financial models, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making. The Associate will be an integral team member, working closely with senior leadership and operating teams to analyze business performance, improve reporting processes, and support ongoing compliance requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting processes of the investment advisor and the captive service providers, including the general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Maintain financial models for the investment advisor, including revenue and expense projections.
  • Monitor the investment advisor’s performance versus budget and forecast.
  • Oversee and communicate with Barings accounting and third-party service providers on accounting and tax matters.
  • Prepare cash flow projections for the investment advisor, the captive service providers, and other related entities as required.
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests for senior leadership.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of revenue drivers, cost trends, and profitability to identify key business drivers.
  • Partner with business leaders and operational teams to communicate financial results and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Support the month-end reporting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial statements.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance forecasting and reporting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, or another related field strongly preferred.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in financial planning and analysis, reporting, or a similar finance role.
  • Strong background in financial modeling, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to manage and analyze large datasets; familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI is a plus.
  • Experience with financial accounting software. Workday experience preferred.
  • Ability to clean, transform, and summarize data to support financial analysis and decision-making.
  • Ability to present complex data and trends to senior management in a clear and actionable format.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to partner with operational leaders and provide financial insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Comfortable working with and manipulating data to support reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Highly developed sense of responsibility and initiative.
