We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded Management Accountant to support the Financial Controller in accurately recording and reporting PDMS’ financial position.
This is a hands-on role across the full finance function, producing accurate, timely management information, maintaining strong financial controls, and continuously driving process improvement with an openness to emerging tools and technologies such as AI.
Working closely with the Financial Controller and senior stakeholders, you'll provide the clear financial insight that underpins both operational decisions and longer-term strategy.
Where you fit in
In this role you will:
- Produce monthly management accounts with an emphasis on revenue reporting
- Analyse weekly time records, including complex revenue calculations
- Deliver monthly KPI reports with executive-level commentary
- Support quarterly budgets and detailed forecasts within strict agreed variances
- Reviewing and processing accounting journals
- Assist with preparation of annual financial statements
- Prepare and review balance sheet and key account reconciliations
- Lead elements of annual internal/external audits, resolving queries
- Producing group VAT returns
- Prepare tax and annual returns for Isle of Man and UK entities
- Review and approve expense claims and purchase orders
- Support of the supplier approval process
- Cover for the Financial Controller and take on additional duties as needed
What you need to bring
- An accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) or equivalent
- A minimum of 5 years’ management accounting experience within an operational finance team, 3 of those years post qualification
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with detailed financial data
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- The ability to collaborate effectively while also working independently and using initiative
- Clear communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across the business
It would be great if you also have:
- In-depth revenue recognition knowledge, particularly IFRS 15
- Strong working knowledge of both FRS 102 and IFRS
- Experience in IT professional services or the software industry
- Experience working with AI and insights into how it can be applied to finance operations
