The Opportunity
NCC Group has an exciting opportunity for a highly driven and ambitious Management Accountant. This position has a broad financial focus. As a Management Accountant, you will be instrumental in handling core accounting responsibilities, including financial reporting, analysis, and compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in all areas of accounting, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
The company is going through a period transformational change and significant growth which makes this an exciting opportunity for your development. Finally, you will be involved in areas such as system implementation and process re-design across both the operational and financial functions.
The Role
As a Management Accountant, you will be focused on:
- Maintain accurate financial records and statements
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities including
- Prepare and post journal entries (including accruals, prepayments and Intercompany charges)
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Support with financial and tax reporting
- Support with year-end Audit
- Improve processes and procedures and initiate corrective actions, including implementation of minimum control requirements
- Ensure that all processes are fully documented and regularly reviewed
Performance
- Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process, providing detailed financial analysis to support decision-making
- Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted results and explain significant differences to management
- Support preparation of the month end reporting pack, provide commentary for variances
- Weekly Cash flow forecasting
- Deferred income calculations and reconciliation
Relationships
- Ensure you maintain adequate relations with all related functions across sales, intercompany counterparties and other finance functions including credit control, billing, and accounts payable.
- Ensure that supporting/upstream teams have clear deadlines for delivery as part of the month end process and other reporting requirements.
Essential Skills
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA preferred)
- Relevant and demonstratable experience is essential
- Fully competent with Microsoft Office package, with strong/advanced Excel skills
- Experience with standard costing is desirable
- Understanding of good financials
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and numerical abilities
- Accuracy and an eye for detail
- The ability to work as part of a team
