Management Accountant

We’re looking for a Management Accountant to join our team. You’ll support the Accounting Manager and wider business with core accounting functions, help lift the quality and integrity of financial information, and provide insights that support better decisions and stronger performance.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a hands-on finance role with real variety and impact. You’ll work closely with operational and finance leaders to support monthly reporting, forecasting, budgeting, analysis and administration across the business. It’s a great fit for someone who likes getting into the detail, building strong working relationships, and turning numbers into useful insight. Good Work here means helping the business perform well while backing your team and keeping standards high.
 

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities

• Support monthly accounts, P&L reviews, reconciliations and management reporting across divisions and departments.

• Review cost to complete, profit forecasts, variance analysis, margin performance and loss reviews for projects and departments.

• Partner with operational leaders to support annual budgets, project reviews and better commercial decision-making.

• Analyse job costing, plant utilisation and business data to identify opportunities to improve financial and administrative performance.

• Provide support across the wider finance function, including training on reports and business tools, and stepping in for the Accounting Manager when needed.

• A relevant tertiary qualification or extensive experience comparable to CA or CPA level.

• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including accounting standards, legislation and best practice.

• Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

• A proactive, team-focused approach with good judgement, curiosity and a genuine willingness to keep improving.
