JOB OVERVIEW

The Management Accountant is responsible for supporting the finance function through accurate and timely financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis. The role involves hands-on accounting work, analytical review, and support for the month-end process. The position requires strong attention to detail, problem solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Confidently execute month-end processes, including journal posting for: Prepayments, Expense Accruals, Fixed Asset Acquisition and Depreciation,
    Revenue Accruals, etc.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare draft P&Ls with analysis and commentary.
  • Assist in development and analysis of quarterly forecasts.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management reports and financial statements.

Lease Administration

  • Support the maintenance of lease register in accordance with IFRS 16.
  • Support the calculation and posting of lease-related journal entries.
  • Reconcile lease accounts.

Data Analysis & Investigation

  • Analyse variances and trends across key financial metrics.
  • Investigate anomalies or unexpected results in financial data.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support decision-making and operational teams.

Process Improvement

  • Contribute to the continual improvement of finance processes, controls, and reporting.
  • Assist in the implementation of system or process enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Admin & Support

  • Support the admin function during busy times by assisting with processing customer & supplier invoices.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5+ years of experience in Accounting, Management Accounting, and/or Financial Reporting.
  • CPA qualification is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of key accounting principles and common processes (ie. Prepayments, accruals, depreciation, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g. MYOB, NetSuite, Xero, SAP, or similar).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Skills Required
