Role Purpose

The Technical Operations Specialist ensures the availability, performance, and security of mission‑critical IT systems, with strong focus on SAP landscapes, cybersecurity, networking, and vendor governance. The role supports high‑volume logistics/supply chain operations by ensuring resilient, secure, and well‑managed technical environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. SAP Hosting & Operations

- Working with the assigned SAP TLM on the account, have working knowledge around the SAP landscapes across on‑premises and/or cloud platforms.

- Working with SAP Basis teams, ensure effective management of SAP application servers, ASCS/SCS, database platforms, and integration components.

- Co-ordinate and assist in SAP transports, change management, and kernel/patch activities.

Working knowledge of SAP high availability through clustering, virtualization, backup and DR.

2. SLA & Availability Management

- Interpret and enforce hosting and security SLAs.

- Ensure alignment to RTO/RPO requirements.

- Manage escalations, incident response, and vendor accountability.

3. SAP Technical Knowledge Requirements

- Understanding of SAP architecture (app servers, message/enqueue servers).

- SAP CTS/CTS+ transport paths and governance.

- Database concepts (backup, log replay, performance basics).

- SAP Router, LDAP/AD integration, SAP Cloud Connector.

- SAP GRC Firefighter, SoD principles, password and access policy enforcement.

4. Cybersecurity Operations

- Knowledge of endpoint protection, SIEM, antivirus, vulnerability management.

- Understanding of incident response and threat prevention strategies.

- IAM principles, security hardening, and audit/compliance processes.

5. Network & Connectivity Management

- LAN/WAN fundamentals, routing, switching.

- VLAN segmentation, DMZ concepts, subnetting, IP planning.

- Firewall rules (Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto), VPN, SD‑WAN.

- SAP-specific connectivity (SAP Router, port requirements, interface troubleshooting).

6. Logistics & Supply Chain IT Support

- Support WMS, TMS, SAP WM/EWM, MM, SD.

- Minimize downtime affecting picking, receiving, dispatching, and invoicing.

7. Incident Leadership & Problem Management

- Lead teams through outages and major incidents.

- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement long-term improvements.

8. Stakeholder Communication

- Communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical audiences.

- Provide transparent updates during incidents.

9. Team Leadership & People Management

- Lead, coach, and support technical teams.

- Foster accountability and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience

- Strong SAP operational understanding.

- Cybersecurity fundamentals and prevention strategy expertise.

- Networking knowledge: routing, VLANs, WAN/LAN, firewalls.

- Experience with SAP hosting environments.

- Vendor/SLA management.

- Exposure to logistics/supply chain systems.

Required Qualifications

- Logistics/supply chain or 24/7 operations experience.

- SAP certification and worked experience.

- Cloud (AWS/Azure)

-Cybersecurity certifications.

- ITIL Foundation/Intermediate.
