Role Description
Design, deploy, and maintain secure and resilient hybrid network solutions across on‑premises and cloud environments, leveraging Palo Alto, Juniper Mist, and Fortinet technologies, including Azure‑based infrastructure and ExpressRoute/MegaPort connectivity.
Manage, configure, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls (hardware and VM Series in Azure), Fortinet firewalls, and Juniper Mist switching and wireless technologies.
Administer and optimize network security devices and policies across traditional and cloud network segments, ensuring compliance with security best practices.
Monitor network performance and security events using LogicMonitor, proactively addressing alerts and supporting capacity planning.
Oversee ExpressRoute/MegaPort connectivity, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of cloud interconnects.
Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution for complex network issues across LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, and security platforms.
Manage network infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and greenfield deployments, ensuring minimal client disruption.
Configure, monitor, and optimize firewalls, VPNs, and security policies on Palo Alto and Fortinet platforms.
Implement and support wireless solutions, particularly Juniper Mist and Meraki, including site surveys, RF planning, and performance tuning.
Maintain network documentation, including topologies, configurations, and change logs.
Collaborate with client IT teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to deliver high‑quality, client‑focused solutions.
Participate in the on‑call rotation and provide escalation support for critical network incidents.
Remain current on industry trends and best practices, recommending improvements as appropriate.

Skill Level Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role within an MSP or enterprise environment
Expert‑level hands‑on experience with enterprise networking technologies, including Cisco, Meraki, Juniper Mist (switching, routing, wireless), and network management platforms
Strong experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto Networks firewalls (hardware, Panorama, and VM Series in Azure) and Fortinet security appliances (including FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer)
Proficiency with Juniper Mist wireless solutions, including implementation and management of AI‑driven wireless networks
Experience designing, configuring, and troubleshooting hybrid cloud connectivity solutions using Azure ExpressRoute and/or MegaPort
Strong understanding of enterprise networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VPNs, and network segmentation
Demonstrated ability to configure and troubleshoot Layer 2/3 switches, routers, wireless controllers, and firewalls
Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, PRTG, and Meraki Dashboard
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Strong documentation, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences
Strong sense of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a client‑facing environment
Preferred Experience
Experience in a managed services provider (MSP) environment
Experience with SD‑WAN and cloud‑managed networking solutions
Hands‑on experience with network automation or scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible)
Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code or automation concepts
Experience supporting complex, multi‑client network environments
Certifications
CCNP or equivalent advanced networking certification preferred
Palo Alto PCNSE certification preferred
Fortinet NSE 4/5/7 certifications preferred
Juniper JNCIS or JNCIP certifications preferred
Azure Networking certification preferred
ITIL Foundation certification preferred
Other Requirements
Ability to travel up to 10% annually
Participation in a rotating on‑call schedule, including after‑hours support
Occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work as business needs require
Ability to meet utilization targets established by leadership
Must successfully pass a CJIS background check upon hire and annually thereafter
The estimated annual pay range for this position is $110,000 - $140,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
