Position Overview:

Trimble is seeking a dynamic and motivated Makerspace Intern to join our Office of Technology Innovation and SketchUp team at our Westminster, CO location. This full-time internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge digital fabrication tools, contribute to the organization and safety of our innovative Makerspace, and create engaging marketing content.

Key Responsibilities:

• Equipment Management: Assist in organizing and maintaining the Makerspace, ensuring all equipment (FDM printers, SLA printer, CO2 laser cutter/engraver, CNC machine, soldering equipment, drill press, heat press, sewing machine, Circuit, and hand tools) is operational and accessible.

• Training Development: Develop training programs and materials for major equipment to empower users with the knowledge and confidence to operate the tools safely and efficiently.

• Safety Planning: Create and implement detailed safety plans and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all users.

• Content Creation: Produce and manage social media content, focusing on short-form videos, to raise awareness of the Makerspace and its capabilities. Collaborate with the social media team to publish 3+ posts per week.

• Marketing and Engagement: Increase the visibility and usability of the Makerspace through strategic marketing efforts. Demonstrate the value of the space to the company and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration.

• ROI Calculation: Develop templates for ROI calculations to provide quantifiable metrics that evaluate the impact of the Makerspace.

Qualifications:

• Current student or recent graduate with coursework or experience in Digital Fabrication, Digital Technology, Marketing, or related fields.

• Knowledge and experience in operating Makerspace equipment.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Proficiency in creating social media content, particularly short-form videos.

• Teaching and training capabilities.

• Preferred knowledge of SketchUp.

• Ability to work Up to 40 hours per week, with most hours during 8-5 M-F business hours for training.
