About the role:
Are you an experienced Aviation Maintenance Leader ready to step up and make an impact? Boeing Defence Australia is seeking an experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to lead our Phased Maintenance Interval (PMI) team supporting the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler program at RAAF Base Amberley.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a front-line manager with an aviation maintenance background who wants to step into a leadership role with real impact. You'll guide a skilled team, support safe and efficient maintenance outcomes, and contribute to one of Australia's most advanced Defence aviation programs.

In this role you will:
- Lead a multidisciplinary maintenance team delivering scheduled and emergent PMI activities
- Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency
- Support technicians and engineers through coaching, mentoring, and clear direction
- Work closely with production planning, engineering, and supply chain teams to meet schedule and resource requirements
- Drive first-time quality, continuous improvement, and process standardisation
- Build strong working relationships with customer stakeholders and internal teams
- Help create a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture
About You:
- Experience in aircraft maintenance management, production leadership, or team supervision
- Background in Defence, aviation, or civil MRO environments
- Understanding of regulatory and quality frameworks such as DASR Part 145, AS9110, CASA, or equivalent
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to manage performance and priorities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A practical, proactive approach to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Familiarity with the maintenance schedule of the Super Hornet/Growler platform would be highly regarded
- The ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1)

You will be required to successfully undergo the vetting process for a government security clearance (Negative Vetting 1) sponsored by BDA. Therefore, you must be willing to disclose all relevant and required information and must have the ability to verify your background for whole of life i.e. birth to present time.
