Wells Fargo is seeking a Mainframe Software Engineer as part of
the Consumer Technology (CT) group. Consumer Technology executes the Wells Fargo Technology strategy by advancing digital offerings, enabling innovation to develop new customer experiences, products and enhancing digital channels, branch, contact center, and ATM technologies. The Mainframe Software Engineer will support the Shaw application, creating and maintaining system expertise which is critical to ensuring uninterrupted operations and smooth future transitions. You will work with an Agile team to design and develop new and modified features supporting multiple lines of business.
In this role, you will:
  • Participate in low to moderately complex initiatives and projects associated with the technology domain, including installation, upgrades, and deployment efforts
  • Identify opportunities for service quality and availability improvements within the technology domain environment
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for low to moderately complex projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
  • Review and analyze technical assignments or challenges that are related to low to medium risk deliverables and that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternative technology domains
  • Present recommendations for resolving issues or may escalate issues as needed to meet established service level agreements
  • Exercise some independent judgment while also developing understanding of given technology domain in reference to security and compliance requirements
  • Provide information to technology colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of software engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 1+ years of mainframe environment experience
  • 1+ years of Cobol experience
Desired Qualifications:
  • Skills and experience utilizing VSAM, JCL/PROCS, Easytrieve, Endevor, TSO, IBM File Manager, IBM Debug Tool, IBM Fault Analyzer, IBM Developer for z Systems and Standard Mainframe Utilities
  • CICS experience is a plus
  • Previous experience in enhancing and supporting financial or loan servicing systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
  • Experience working in an Agile Scrum Team environment
  • Experience using Jira
  • Participate in sprint planning, refinement, reviews, and daily stand-ups.
  • Experience in development of enterprise scale banking applications will be a plus
  • Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology governance risk and compliance processes such as policies, control standards, risk management concepts, or information security.
  • Participate in architectural discussions, conduct rigorous code reviews, and contribute to our high standards for technical documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve simple to moderately complex issues in our development, test, and production environments.

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$37.02 - $63.94
