The Role

Job Description:

  • Assist with configuring, maintaining, upgrading and administrating the Cigna International Markets EGS Mainframe infrastucture and platforms in Amsterdam(NL) and Uxbridge(UK), with an emphasis on technical and operational excellence and continuous improvement of the mainframe environments.
  • Work with the Mainframe Technical, Development and Operator teams for solving problems and implementing Mainframe related requirements.
  • Participate in the design, creation, implementation and maintenance of the mainframe environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install/Upgrade, Configure, Maintain and Support Mainframe multi-vendor Hardware: IBM zSeries, IBM HMC, LPAR, OSA Network integration, Dell PowerMax, Dell DLm/DataDomain Virtual Tape servers, Dell SRDFand DataDomain remote data mirroring,
  • Install/Upgrade, configure, Maintain and Support multi-vendor Mainframe Software: IBM (z/VM, DDR, ICKDSF, HLASM, z/VSE, TCP/IP, DMS/AAE/AAG, VTAM, CICS, COBOL for VSE, VSAM, Personal Communications/HACP…), Broadcom/CA (Dynam, Top Secret VM/VSE, FAVER2, Easytrieve+, Explore for CICS, Sort, FAQS/ASO/PCS), Software AG (EntireX), CSI (TCP/IP for VSE),
    z/VSE and/or z/VSEn experience is critical for this role.
  • Create, Implement, Maintain REXX procedures (CMS and VSE) for supporting and automating system functions, developers tasks and operators tasks.
  • Implement, Maintain and support Mainframe performance and capacity management: CPU, Disk Space (VSAM catalogs, Dynam Disk pools, Virtual Tape libraries…), OSA Network adapters, CICS user experience, …
  • Implement, Maintain and Support logical connectivity between Mainframe Applications and Network Applications (EntireX)
  • Configure, Implement, Maintain and Support moitoring and alerting for all mainframe components and systems.
  • Create, Implement and Maintain Mainframe system related documentation and procedures.

Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • IBM zSeries experience
  • Solid knowledge of and experience with IBM z mainframe systems and technology.
  • Solid knowledge of and experience with z/VM and z/VSE (z/VSEn) operating systems
  • Solid knowledge of CMS XEDIT/EXEC/PIPE/REXX. 
  • Solid knowledge of majority of softwares mentioned above.  
  • Solid technical knowledge of CA IDMS.
  • Knowledge of Dell SYMCLI for PowerMax data mirroring and cloning technology.
  • Hands-on technical expertise building & supporting mainframe environments.
  • Strategical results-orientated thinker
  • Strong problem-solving skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
