The role
Key Responsibilities:
- Test standard and custom products and hardware to assess functionality, performance and reliability.
- Serve as a primary source for problem identification and improvement.
- Select testing specifications for new and existing program product solutions.
- Ensure testing procedures comply with industry standards.
- Document procedures for all phases of testing and test results.
- Improve and automate the test methodology.
- Manage large projects or processes with limited oversight from the manager.
- Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals.
- Address difficult and often complex problems.
What you’ll bring
Qualifications:
- Advanced education and extensive work experience in mainframe programming.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex issues.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Ability to coach and mentor junior professionals.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Experience with industry-standard testing procedures and quality standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with automation tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Proven track record of managing large projects successfully.
