The Magnet program director oversees and coordinates the American Nurse Credentialing Center's (ANCC) Magnet Accreditation process at Mount Auburn Hospital. This individual is knowledgeable about the Magnet program and all associated requirements. This highly visible leadership role organizes and directs activities that contribute to advancing professional nursing at Mount Auburn and Magnet Accreditation. Is a liaison to teams throughout the organization to communicate Magnet goals and to facilitate cross-departmental work. Brings a thoughtful, analytical approach to the Magnet process, issuing recommendations as needed. Collaborates with leadership and clinical staff across the organization to promote and enculturate Magnet principles throughout MAH.

Job Description:

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the organization's Magnet Program expert and coordinator for application, interim reporting, documentation, and appraisal process.
  • Serves as the liaison to the ANCC Magnet Program Office. Collaborates with clinical nurses and nursing leaders to develop and implement evidence-based programs that promote nursing excellence and the Magnet Accreditation.
  • Supports nursing leaders and clinical staff in the identification and collection of evidence and outcome measures that highlight nursing excellence and support the Magnet document.
  • Prepares the Magnet document and associated evidence for submission; manages associated data and performs data analytics related to Nursing Satisfaction, Patient Satisfaction and Nurse Sensitive Indicators.
  • Supports Professional Governance and other nursing workgroups or committees in activities that promote nursing excellence and Magnet designation.
  • Directs and coaches nursing and interprofessional colleagues related to the Magnet designation process.
  • Facilitates and coordinates work with consultants as needed.
  • With the Director of Nursing Clinical & Professional Development, oversees the Magnet budget.
  • Advises the nursing leadership team on progress toward readiness and issues needing recommendations.
  • Has the responsibility to lead and support managers and directors in developing and improving operations to create optimal performance levels. Direct Reports: None; Indirect Reports: None
     

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred;  BSN is required.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse required.
  • 5-8 years related work experience required and 1-3 years supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

  • Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English to medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.
  • Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate broad and comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex and/or unprecedented situations across multiple functional areas.
  • Team Work: Ability to interact respectfully with other employees, professional staff and/or external contacts to offer ideas, identify issues, obtain information or deliver services.
  • Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner.

Physical Nature of the Job:

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally in carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling objects. Sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally



Pay Range:

$170,000.00 USD - $220,000.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
