Job Description

Set up, adjust, and operates machine tools for multiple types of machine shop equipment. Work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal. May communicate directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances. May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.

You will report to a Production Supervisor.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor laser cutting machines to perform cuts on metal and other materials.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and tolerances to ensure accurate machining.
  • Set up and adjust machine parameters for a good performance and material specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser equipment.
  • Inspect finished parts using measurement tools to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Document production data and report any deviations or issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Technical degree (with certificate or full Kardex).
  • Certification in laser machine operation.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating punch press machines.
  • Availability to work shifts and overtime.
  • Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings and tolerances.
  • Experience handling measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Knowledge of processes involving steel, LVMCC doors, and cells.
  • Basic to intermediate English proficiency.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Experience with fiber or CO₂ laser machines.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
  • Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, or other industrial materials.
