Responsibilities:
Machine Operation
- Set up and operate conventional lathes and milling machines as per job requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and job instructions.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for different materials.
Quality Control
- Inspect machined components using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators.
- Ensure parts meet dimensional and surface finish specifications.
- Record inspection results and maintain proper documentation.
Maintenance & Housekeeping
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines and tools.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free from hazards.
Safety Compliance
- Follow all safety guidelines, including PPE usage and safe machine operation.
- Report unsafe conditions or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
Continuous Improvement
- Suggest process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
- Participate in training programs to upgrade skills.
Requirements:
- ITI Turner / ITI Machinist OR completion of a full-term apprenticeship.
- ITI with apprenticeship completion can apply.
- 2–5 years of experience in conventional lathe and milling operations is preferred.
- Knowledge of machining principles, cutting tools, and material properties.
- Candidate can read and speak Kannada.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments and quality standards.
- Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods.
