StandardAero is looking for a versatile Manual Machinist with a passion for precision and craftsmanship with high mechanical aptitude with strong precision and accuracy.

Shift requirement: Days (5 days x 8 hours). Preference will be given to individuals with open availability as position may require flexibility to work multiple shifts as needed to support business demands. No regular shift rotation and no overnights.
What you’ll do:
- Operate manual and/or CNC to machine components to exact specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, templates, and specification manuals to plan machining operations.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances, lay out workpieces, and verify accuracy using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-train in complementary skills to support production requirements.
- Follow all safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or practices immediately.
- Adhere to company policies, including proactive risk management and Just Culture principles.
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in manual machines such as mills, lathes, etc.
- Practical experience in blueprint reading and interpreting technical specifications.
Practical experience in using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized machinist apprenticeship program or equivalent education and training.
- Journeymen or candidates with Red Seal certification will be given preference..
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, metallurgy, and production management systems.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
