StandardAero is looking for a versatile Machinist with a passion for precision and craftsmanship with high mechanical aptitude with strong precision and accuracy.

The job grade/title may be adjusted based on the successful candidate's relevant experience and qualifications

Shift requirement: Day shift M-F. This position may require flexibility to work multiple shifts as needed to support business demands. No regular shift rotation and no overnights.


What you’ll do:

  • Manufacture tools and fixtures from raw material to completion as specified from blue prints.

  • Operate manual and CNC to machine components to exact specifications.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, templates, and specification manuals to plan machining operations.

  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances, lay out workpieces, and verify accuracy using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

  • Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and cross-train in complementary skills to support production requirements.

  • Follow all safety protocols and report any unsafe conditions or practices immediately.

  • Adhere to company policies, including proactive risk management and Just Culture principles.

 

What skills you’ll need:

  • Red Seals Machinist Certified.

     

  • Must have five years of experience in blueprint reading and interpreting technical specifications.

  • Must have five years of experience using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.

     

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Hands-on experience in manual machines such as mills, lathes, CNC etc.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, metallurgy, and production management systems.
