BASIC FUNCTION:
Under moderate supervision, operates a variety of machines such as lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, or special purpose equipment to machine metal work pieces to specification on a production basis.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Performs a variety of tasks on a variety of machines.
- Works from engineering drawings or rough sketches.
- Sets up own machining work.
- Performs other duties as assigned by leader or supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with machining techniques, tools, materials, equipment and blueprint reading is required. Ability to read precision measuring tools is also required. Skills may be gained through practical experience and/or specialized training. Minimum amount of rework or scrap will be accepted. Knowledge of all functions in given work area is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Frequent bending, twisting and/or lifting approximately 55 pounds (and periodically heavier loads approximately 75 pounds) will be required.

The individual holding this position has a broad responsibility for carrying out the objectives of the Company including supporting all company policies, meeting goals, and working as a contributing team member.
Performance will be measured on the function/duties described in the position description, accomplishments during the review period, and the methods/work skills used to achieve the goals.
