Valmont is seeking a highly driven individual for the Machine Operator 4 position, incumbent must be able to perform set up and operate various machinery and must know how to quickly identify machine malfunction. Essential Functions

• Have knowledge of department and plant processes
• Knowledge of production equipment\hand held tools used in the department in a professional manner
• Ability to read blueprints
• Be able to read the daily layout sheet and install the correct size spiral wire in the mold to approximately match the mold section's dimensions
• Perform safety audits
• Participate in Lean manufacturing, Gemba and 5S
• Ability to accurately use and read a tape measure
• Ability to work overtime as required to meet business needs
• Demonstrates the ability of attention to detail of products and processes
• Perform strenuous activities for a moderate duration
• Maintains an attitude that unlawful or unethical actions are not accepted
• Performs other duties directed by leaders and management
• Actively participate in department safety, and demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors, which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures

Other important Details about the Role:

• Ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a professional manner
• Ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
• Ability to work overtime as required to meet business needs

• Remove all debris and foreign material from mold.
• Appropriately apply a thin layer of oil to coat mold skin from tip to butt
• Articulate the difference in chuck bodies and wedges and install them correctly on to the mold strand.
• Ability to read, measure, and install the false plate per the engineered drawing
• Ability to read and comprehend the daily layout sheet and install the correct size spiral wire in the mold to approximately match the mold sections' dimensions.
• Ability to read and comprehend the engineered drawing and determine the correct type and length of de-mold and install correctly while it is flush and secured in place at the tip of the tension plate with tie wire.
• Obtains initial stress jack certification from EHS.

• Identify and report safety hazards
• Assist with general plant clean up and housekeeping
• This position reports to the Department Supervisor

 Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

• One (1) to two (2) years of relevant experience

• Ability to work overtime as required to meet business needs

• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English
• Communicate problems or needs to departmental supervision
• Communicate and interact with coworkers in a professional manner
• Pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
• High awareness for safety with the ability to wear all required PPE and work in a non-temperature controlled environment, as well as with exposure to outdoors
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds, although most frequent lift is up to 30 pounds
• Ability to spend 75% of workday standing or walking, 10% bending or kneeling, 10% stooping, and 5% climbing
• Ability to be company trained and authorized to operate equipment and machinery
• Ability to work overtime as required to meet business needs
• Self-Motivated ability to be internally inspired to perform task to the best of one’s ability using his or hers own drive or initiative
• Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Machine and equipment certification
