What you'll do

We're looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to join Clara’s Data Team and help us build the infrastructure powering our ML products at scale. You’ll collaborate closely with data engineers and data scientists to design, deploy, and maintain high-impact machine learning systems. Your work will be essential in driving automation, personalization, and efficiency across Clara’s platform.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll own the full lifecycle of ML models—from feature pipeline design to deployment and monitoring—ensuring that our systems are robust, scalable, and fast-moving.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building and maintaining ML feature pipelines with a focus on reliability, scalability, and maintainability

  • Managing the full ML model lifecycle, including deployment, monitoring, and operations (MLOps)

  • Collaborating with data scientists to implement and scale ML models

  • Monitoring data quality and proactively resolving data issues

  • Working with data architectures like Data Vaults and Star Schemas in a lakehouse environment

  • Documenting engineering processes and best practices to ensure continuity and learning

  • Participating in code reviews, peer programming, and DevOps-focused initiatives

  • Driving best practices around data security and data privacy

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Must haves
  • 4+ years of experience deploying and maintaining ML models and infrastructure

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL

  • Practical and theoretical understanding of machine learning algorithms

  • Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins

  • Hands-on experience with Docker and the GitHub Flow development process

  • Experience with the feature store paradigm

  • Proficiency with ML frameworks like xgboost, scikit-learn, or catboost

  • High-level understanding of distributed systems and Spark architecture

  • Experience integrating data from databases, APIs, and event streams (e.g. Kinesis, Kafka)

  • Experience building complex ETL/ELT pipelines using orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, or AWS Step Functions

  • Familiarity with AWS services, particularly Redshift, Glue, Sagemaker, Lambda, Athena, S3, and Kinesis

  • Experience with big data technologies such as (Py)Spark, Scala, Hive, and Kafka

  • Working proficiency in English and Spanish

Nice to haves
  • Experience using and administering the Databricks platform

  • Familiarity with MLflow

  • Interest in automating workflows using AI tools

Claridians in a hybrid mode split their time between working from the office, talking to or visiting customers, or working from home. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for each individual and team.

We don't enforce a minimum number of days for most roles, but you're expected to spend time at the office organically, and be at the office most days during your ramp-up or when required by your leader.
