Position Overview

Autodesk makes software for people who make things. Autodesk's Emerging Media and Entertainment Technology division is seeking a Machine Learning (ML) Developer to work on innovative projects that help our customers imagine, design, and make a better world. This role is ideal for individuals proficient in applying ML methodologies and tools to a wide range of data and use cases.

Our team is globally based, with key locations in Toronto, Montreal, San Francisco and Vancouver.

Responsibilities

  • Review state-of the-art media-focused, and especially motion-focused ML publications and technologies

  • Assess capabilities for feasibility and generalizability, and report to project and program leads

  • Implement cutting edge ML results, improve existing models Stay current with new ML models and AI techniques

  • Develop new specific as well as generalized large models for motion prediction under various modalities

  • Develop end-to-end workflows, leveraging new data-driven techniques and evolving motion editing technologies

  • Work collaboratively on research projects within a globally-based team

  • Support research through building experimental pipelines and prototypes

  • Handle data processing and preparation at scale

  • Conduct model training and hyperparameter tuning

  • Analyze model errors and design strategies for mitigation

  • Leverage cutting edge coding tools for high velocity. Maintain high standards of engineering, scalable implementations for shared code repos

Minimum Qualifications

  • MS, or PhD in a field related to AI/ML such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or a related discipline

  • Proficiency in Deep Learning techniques (Network architectures, regularization techniques, learning techniques, loss-functions, optimization strategies, etc.)

  • Deep background in statistical methods for Machine Learning (Bayesian methods, HMMs, graphical models, dimension reduction, clustering, classification, regression techniques, etc.)

  • Experience with multiple assisted coding environments

  • Strategies for best practices for high-velocity and scalable assisted code generation

  • Computational time-series data analytics and prediction regimes

  • Proficiency with scalable compute, bandwidth and storage infrastructure and associated orchestration layer

  • Proficiency with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other standard deep learning frameworks

  • Profound understanding of fundamental CS algorithms and their scaling behaviors

  • Practical experience in applying machine learning algorithms and libraries to business problems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in production environments and creative workflows in the entertainment or adjacent industries

  • Proven collaboration with creatives and producers

  • Familiarity with media pipelines and practical application of data modeling

  • Maîtrise des techniques d’apprentissage profond (architectures de réseaux, techniques de régularisation, techniques d’apprentissage, fonctions de perte, stratégies d’optimisation, etc.)

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $110,000 and $160,600. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
