Machine Designer / Design Engineer

Reports to: Director of Engineering

Position Overview:

The Machine Designer / Design Engineer will use SolidWorks to design specialized machines well as fabricated components as an integral member of our Engineering department. The Designer will help to produce all engineering data required to manufacture as well as provide manufacturing support and required technical documentation.

Core Responsibilities:

· Develop new machines and variants of existing products in SolidWorks

· Create and release designs, drawings, manufacturing BOMs, etc.

· Support project technical requirements from quote through shipment

· Cross functional communication with customers and multiple departments

Required Qualifications/ Experience:

· Fluent in both SolidWorks and Microsoft Office

· Fluent in generating and interpreting engineering drawings

· 1 years minimum mechanical design experience

· General mechanical knowledge: fabrication, machining, hardware, etc.

· Ability to drive projects from initial concept to completion w/ support from the team

· Perform as a technical resource to all departments

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience:

· A.A.S. degree or higher in mechanical field

· 5 years minimum progressive design experience

· Familiarity with machine design

· Familiarity with manufacturing processes; machining, fabrication

· Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems

Environmental Conditions:

Work is predominately in an office environment. While in the shop area, the employee may be subject to: high noise levels from operating machinery; physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts; breathing fumes and dust; exposure to explosive gases.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
