POSITION SUMMARY
⦁ To support Hunt Regional Medical Partners' multi-speciality practice in a clinical and administrative capacity. Employee will be proficient in all areas of responsibility, with minimal supervision and oversight required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

⦁ High School Diploma or GED
⦁ Minimum Work Experience
⦁ At least three (3) years' experience

⦁ Will possess excellent verbal/communication skills. Possess the ability to resolve conflict. Possess excellent listening skills. Solid computer skills, solid customer service skills, ability to multi task, solid organization skills, experience in a medical office environment, ability to work in a fact paced, busy environment.
⦁ Preferred Qualification
⦁ Certified Medical Assistant preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
⦁ Office environment, standing, walking, stooping, bending. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. May be exposed to communicable diseases and body fluids.
JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
1. Demonstrates an understanding of and adherence to the HMHD Compliance Plan.

6. Greet and room patients in a courteous and professional manner

8. Obtain History/Physical, Reason for Visit
9. Reconcile Medication(s) with Patient
10. Assist Physician/Provider in Patient Interaction and Procedures
11. Patient Treatment Room Preparation and Maintenance
12. Data Entry of Demographic and Clinical Information into HRMP System(s)
13. Communicating Lab and Procedure Results to Patients
14. Review and Clarification of patient consent forms with patient prior to patient signing forms
15. Call/Process Prescriptions to Pharmacy as applicable
16. Ability to provide and explain instructions for Patient Procedure Preparation, Prescription, and other directives needed with regard to patient education
17. Preparation of Chart information for Physician as needed/requested
18. Knowledge of how to safety and properly draw and administer injections
19. Inventory Maintenance
20. Catheter insertion/removal (as required)
21. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
22. Manage office telephone systems, including answering calls and returning messages
23. Scheduling patient appointments (new and established patients) and maintaining communication to confirm future appointments (includes knowledge of proper EHR patient registration process)
24. Performing data entry tasks to document patient records within facility databases and maintaining patient files
25. Coordinating daily office activities, greeting patients and checking patients in and out for their appointments
26. Eligibility and benefits; collection of surgical fees from patient
27. Authorization and pre-certification of procedures and medications
28. Scan documents into EHR
29. Index scanned documents
30. Check-out functions
31. Prepare documents for transmission to external entities via fax, mail, and other
32. Referral Coordination, both outgoing and incoming
33. Surgery Scheduling and Coordination between Physician/Hospital and Patient
34. Pre-Operative Appointment Scheduling and Coordination between Hospital and patient; Assure appropriate coordination with other hospital departments when special surgical needs occur
35. Maintain daily surgical schedule to ensure that all patients are scheduled appropriately
36. Assist patients with information necessary to pay all medical charges
37. Set post-surgical appointments with doctors and perform all necessary tests
38. Inform patients and any relevant third party through instructions about "things to do" before and after surgeries
39. Take reservations for surgeries and schedule a date based on the availability of the surgeon and the medical condition of patients

Skills Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least three (3) years' experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
