AIM OF THE JOB:
The M&E Engineer is responsible for managing, coordinating, and supervising all Mechanical and Electrical engineering works throughout the project lifecycle. This role ensures that building services systems are designed, installed, tested, and commissioned according to project specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards, while supporting timely and quality project delivery.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Technical Review & Coordination
- Review M&E design drawings, shop drawings, method statements, and technical submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications and statutory requirements.
- Provide technical input and resolve design discrepancies or site coordination issues.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate and timely submissions, review, approval, and distribution
Site Supervision & Quality Control
- Supervise M&E installation works to ensure compliance with approved designs, standards, and safety requirements.
- Conduct routine site inspections to monitor quality, progress, and workmanship of M&E contractors.
- Verify material deliveries, equipment installation, and testing/commissioning activities.
- Ensure timely rectification of non‑conformities and defects.
Project Planning & Progress Monitoring
- Review and monitor M&E work schedules submitted by contractors to ensure alignment with overall project timelines.
- Track progress, identify potential delays, and propose mitigation measures.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports on M&E progress, issues, and risks.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Coordinate testing and commissioning (T&C) activities for all M&E systems, including HVAC, plumbing & drainage, fire protection, electrical system, ELV systems, lifts & escalators, etc.
- Ensure T&C documentation, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and warranty certificates are properly submitted and consolidated.
- Support site handover, Authority inspections, and DLP activities.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all M&E works comply with local regulations, codes of practice, safety guidelines, and environmental requirements.
- Participate in safety audits and enforce corrective actions where required.
Cost & Contract Administration
- Review variation orders (VOs), claims, and cost proposals related to M&E works.
- Assist in evaluating quotations, material proposals, and system alternatives for cost optimization.
- Support procurement activities for M&E equipment and systems.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain professional communication with consultants, contractors, suppliers, project partners and internal teams.
- Facilitate coordination meetings for M&E contractors and ensure follow‑through on action items.
- Support the project team in compiling MEP documentation and coordinating submission, approval, and inspection procedures with the Authorities.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or related fields.
Experience
- Minimum 05 years of experience in M&E engineering within real estate development, construction, or consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of building services, M&E coordination and T&C processes.
- Experience with high‑rise, mixed‑use, residential, or commercial projects is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of M&E systems, design principles, construction practices and MEP regulations, codes & standards.
- Familiar with project coordination tools, AutoCAD, Revit (preferred), and MS Office.
- Good problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and a structured approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced project environment.
- Strong communication skills in English and Vietnamese.
